Danimal66
Is there a widely accepted price guide for reference to price your own books? I know condition is the most important aspect, but I'm mainly selling my autographed raw comics, many in like new condition. There are a couple guides I use and they vary greatly. Is there one that stands above the rest that everyone respects or is it just a shoot? Edited May 22 by Danimal66
IanTAnderson
Hey Danimal66, When it comes to pricing your comic books, especially autographed and like-new condition issues, using reliable price guides is crucial. Here are three of the most widely respected comic book price guides, along with an introduction to a new platform, Underval. Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide Often considered the "bible" of comic book collectors, the Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide has been a cornerstone in the industry since 1970. It offers detailed pricing information, historical data, and market trends, making it a go-to resource for both novice and experienced collectors. Overstreet is particularly well-regarded for its comprehensive coverage of both mainstream and obscure titles. Comic Book Realm Comic Book Realm is a popular online resource offering an extensive database of comic book prices. The site allows users to track their collections, view market trends, and see real-time updates on comic book values. It’s frequently updated, making it a reliable choice for those looking to stay current with market fluctuations. GoCollect GoCollect specializes in providing real-time sales data from various marketplaces, including eBay. It offers detailed analytics, such as past sales history and trends, which can help you gauge the current market value of your comics. GoCollect is especially useful for those who want up-to-date information and comprehensive market insights. Underval Underval is an innovative new platform designed to help collectors identify and purchase undervalued comics. Unlike traditional price guides, Underval provides several advanced metrics, including Fair Market Value (FMV), Market Value (MV), CAGR, Correlation and volume indicators. These metrics help you assess whether a comic is experiencing increased interest, which can indicate liquidity and potential future value. Users can obtain metrics by title, issue, and grade, allowing for precise and informed decision-making. Using these guides in combination can give you a well-rounded view of your comic's value. Each has its strengths, and by leveraging their unique features, you can ensure you're getting the most accurate pricing for your comics. I hope this information helps you in pricing your comics accurately and effectively. Ian T Anderson
