This page makes it clear that Wolverine is a fighter and Gambit is a lover. Both the best at what they do. Check out the note in the margin that says "This woman should be black". Then compare it to the real page for the result. There is a second notation stating "Lipstick on Gambit's face-three kiss marks" Each painting has a page of tracing paper taped to it that show the color codes.
