SUPER DUPER COMICS #3 (F.E. HOWARD, 1947)

POOR  condition.
Ragged, incomplete copy: Spine is rough & cover detached, top of back cover missing. Pages have brittleness at corners.

Centerfold missing, but Mr. Monster and Nelvana stories are complete.

This is the first time Mr. Monster appears in costume. Doc Stearne, a recurring Canadian character was first called Mr. Monster in his previous appearance in Triumph Comics #31.
The final appearance of Nelvana during the Golden Age.

Though this numbered issue #3, it appears to be the only issue published, and unusual in that it has all-color Canadian content at a time when Canadian comic publishers had largely switched to reprinting U.S. comics.

I purchased these together years ago, and based on appearance and page quality I believe they were likely originally purchased by the same person.

Some partially erased pencil under title, small color pull title. 

Pulp format, printed without overhang. A hybrid of the typically larger sized and slicker true crime magazines of the era, and the thicker pulp magazines which specialized in fiction. Mostly true crime content, but includes two "novelettes". 

Classic "White Slavery" cover.  Only two issues were published by Martin Goodman's Western Fiction Publishing, which would become "Red Circle" pulps.
