According to my records this is just the 2nd contest so far that hasn't required a tie-breaker round to settle one or more of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The last such contest was contest #4 in which @WilliamLunt finished finished 2nd place as well (in that contest the top 3 finished with scores of 17, 18, and 19).

This was a weird one for me. There was basically one comic in every round that really torched my score.

Oh my God, I cannot believe I won.  First of all, I have been participating in these grading contest since the beginning (even before CGC started sponsoring/running the current grading contests) when the board ran our own contests.  I have been in the top 25 to 50% group and Honorable Mention Group but never ever been in the top 3 and not even close to the top 10 in any of the contests.  I was considering not entering this time because I figure that I have no chance and why bother.  I decided to enter again because the contests are always fun even if frustrating.  So the lesson to everyone here, don't give up and keep playing, you know never know what is possible.  What did I do different this time to improve and win?  Honestly nothing changed.  My advice is to go with your gut and 1st instinct and not 2nd guess yourself.  Don't overthink it.  Let's face it.  You need a lot of luck to win this contest.  My decades of comic collecting finally paid off and the right books/defects showed up in the contest.  I think a lot of grading is based personally on the books we have seen and graded in our lifetime but can continually learn.  We all have certain biases and influences that determine a comic grade for us.   Thank you to the CGC Forum for making me a better grader.

Yep.  Also, in this contest, the first 5 positions were  held by a single participant.

Thank you.  What is the record for best score ever in these contests?  (Olympic World Record, ha, ha).  I actually thought I was done after a +6 in round 2, but everyone did poorly so it is relative.

Yup, 11 is the best score to date, which TC33 achieved in contest #5. @Squirrel Guy also recorded an 11 back in Contest #1. Those are the only 2 entrants that have topped @spidermanbeyond's impressive score of 12.

This contest plays with your mind.  I thought the TH #17 was a solid 2.0.  I was worried it might go to 1.8 or 1.5 on the downside and on the upside 2.5. I thought, nah, no way is it 2.5.  I will stay with 2.0.  Of course, comes back 2.5.  Still disagree.  No way should be 2.5.
