Sounds to me as if he's saying HE wrote it and someone inked it.

Dave wood was a writer not an inker. And we both know from his other quotes that when Kirby said “write” he meant plot and  draw. Panel by panel and page by page without any written script.

Kirby's E's are pretty distinctive.

Usually there are one or two letters that are a dead giveaway with anyone's calligraphy. I can spot Sam Rosen's lettering a mile away because of his unique J's and S's.

I have been involved in cases with “handwriting experts” on very rare occasions and it’s not an exact science even with cursive. Block letters have a greater degree of uniformity than cursive. We are also not talking about lettering here as Kirby did not do lettering and thus, unlike a career letterer, would not have a consistent style he practiced.

I would expect that someone's handwriting would be quirkier than their lettering, where you try to have some uniformity.

That being said, comics researchers (who are far better at this that I) have identified both Jack and Stan's handwriting on Silver age pages. It's probably not 100% accurate, but pretty close.
