This cover look really weird..

I don't see anything that looks like leaf-casting. Just consistent with normal aging.

For me it was just weird because the edge were so white and the center normal or and tanned

What you're seeing in the white areas is where the cover was exposed to water in the past. It's viewed as "water damage"/ "staining".

The edges are white because the water actually “cleaned” that part of the cover.
