Steve:

Over the years I've been contacted by many different "theme" collectors. Some of these categories have more ardent fans than others, but it's safe to say that the majority of these classes have little impact on overall prices, but they can contribute to scarity.

Here's a short list. I'm sure others can add to it.

Sports are big:

Golf

Baseball

Bowling

Fishing

Holidays are also big:

Christmas

Hallowe'en

Valentine's Day

Then there are hobbies:

Trains

Fireworks

Coins

Stamps

Poker or Card Playing

Gambling

And professions and lifestyles:

Doctors

Lawyers

Cartoonists

Politicians

Pirates

Hippies

Modes of transportation:

Bicycles

Trains

Automobiles

Airplanes

Whew...there are many more, but these are just the obvious ones off the top of my head. At one time I'm sure I had the largest collection of "Pirate" themed comics. It's still big, but I sold off most of the expensive issues like Adventure 48 (49?), Detective 49, etc...
