Heritage Auction This Past Weekend

While it seemed like there wasn't much available, I did get a bargain (I thought). A Superman #208 CGC 8.5. I got it for $16.00 plus juice and postage for a total of $28. This was still a tad under guide (~ $30). My copy is crappy, so this is an upgrade for me.

Did anyone else pick up any bargains?

I tried for the Cat #1 and M 2-1 #1 9.6's but the site was real slow for me, even with a cable connection. My last minute bids did not make it through... 893frustrated.gif

I havea copy of Cat 1 if its this one your looking for.

ITs not CGC'd but its a good if not beter condition. I have to pull it out off the file cabinet.

Thanks.. I have a CGC9.4 but was looking to upgrade. That's a tough book to find in HG. I have a Cat 1-4 set in 9.4 and a 2 & 4 in 9.6. That copy was not much of an upgrade, but there have been so few available, I would have taken it for now until i found a better one.

I picked up two cheap Blackhawks. While I don't collect the series, the books looked so nice and they are from 1965 (and I paid $30 a piece in NM-). Heck it cost almost that much to get them certified.

Also picked up the Mystic #54 Circle 8 copy in CGC VF (8.0). It didn't really look that nice but anytime I can get an CGC VF(8.0) Atlas book for below $75 I'm a buyer (hint - any sellers?)

I have only been buying from Heritage the last few months, but so far I have been very happy with the books and the prices.

I already put bids on the next auction.

Probably not a bad price (the last one on Heritage sold for $719, but I'm sure you all ready knew that).

The only thing about that book (and other key late Silver Age Marvels) is that a lot have already been certified.

Check the census. Two in 9.9, 11 in 9.8, 30 in 9.6 and 36 in 9.4.

These are the type of books that I see having trouble increasing in value over the few years. There is a real good demand for the book, but there is also a real good supply.

Still, cool book.

It's $9.00 with the $6.00 minimum BP, but still good for a flip. You got some cool books. I hope you're keeping the Jumbo Comics. Those are just to cool to sell.

What on earth is going on? Darth has turned into a Golden Age collector!

Is this the end of the world?

Oh well, I guess Darth has heard rumours of Bondage scenes in Jumbo Comics... grin.gif

What can I say...looking at some of your posts and pov's talk of Matt Baker covers, I wanted to give these a shot...I dorve some up to $50 but still lost. I'll admit I'm out of my element but it is definitely the covers that got me interested.

I got a copy of Incredible Science Fiction in CGC 9.2 (a Gaines File too) for about 1.5x guide. I also picked up several Neal Adams books in CGC 9.2 for about NM guide. Not too shabby - I was happy! smile.gif
