I love that cover, and how it's a precursor to JLA 21.

 

Wizard of Oz, with the famous crystal ball sequences, was released August 1939.

All Star Comics #8 publication date was December 1941-January 1942.

I know that the crystal ball was hardly original with Wizard of Oz, but I've always wondered whether the popularity of the movie inspired the cover design.
