Education on Comic Collecting: Auction Site Buying and Selling Best Practices

A whole other dimension of buying/selling on eBay is determining your Feedback Policy.

Discussed at length in the "eBay Feedback Blackmail" thread.

Two sides of the debate...

"Seller should leave feedback as soon as funds are received, period." - divad

"Feedback should be left upon the completion of a satisfactory transaction. Just because payment has been sent doesn't mean that the deal is done and everyone is happy - the buyer could try and alter the deal, attempt to perpetrate fraud (e.g., claiming the package was lost, that the contents were missing, pulling a switch on a raw book, etc.) or otherwise be in the wrong (e.g., demanding a refund when one was not offered nor warranted under the circumstances). I think we've all seen more than enough gypsies, tramps and thieves in this hobby that I hope none of us are naive enough to think there aren't more than a few scumbags out there who would be willing to take advantage of a seller who leaves immediate positive feedback" - delekkerste

Hi there. I'm currently writing a book for new users on buying and selling comics on ebay. I go by the ebay user name bronzeageboy and have been using ebay for the past seven years. ebay is a fantastic resource that has changed the landscape of buying and selling comics, however it's certainly not without its faults. As a user with a 100% feedback rating of over 400, I've pretty much seen it all and would like to share some of my experiences with new users who are too intimidated to get online to buy and sell comics.

I'd love to hear about any tips/advice or other nuggets of information that you think should be mentioned in the book. Let's hear from all you guys!
