Yes. The only way for a post to "disappear" is for a mod to delete it.

 

Actually, that's not true. If nobody has posted after you, and you delete a post quickly enough, it disappears. Try it...

 

I believe you, but in the context being talked about here (posts that have posts after them as well as replies), it's true.

 

Yeah, after a short period of time it doesn't disappear. It just says "post deleted".
