OT: whos it gonna be saturday night......Liddell or Ortiz

The part I can't wrap my head around with Liddell is how off balance and/or flat footed he looks out there all the time. Doesn't move like an athlete and it surprises me to see him winning all the time. He just looks like he's stumbling around awkwardly out there with the right hand loaded and ready to fire and not much else. I guess his punches are just that good and maybe the flat footedness is being planted for the punch but there's part of me that's surprised at his success.

Never underestimate confidence. Because he's got that knock out power and because his striking style is very hard to defend against, he's got the confidence to just unload whenever an opportunity arises. That combined with, as JC said, his take down defence(which is probably what he spends most of his training time on) makes him very difficult to deal with. The fact is, he leaves himself wide open to strikes because he tends to keep his hands very low, but since most fighters are afraid to get caught, they can't take advantage. Tito is one of the best "ground and pound specialists" in the UFC, so it looks as though it will take a striker to beat a striker.

I'd love to see Anderson Silva move up to 205(highly unlikely, I know). I'd also love to see Rampage get a title shot. Better yet, I'm hoping Cro Cop decides to compete at 205 after he walks through Tim Sylvia. In any event, Liddell's days are numbered.

Liddell certainly doesn't look like a natural in the ring, but he has the lethal combination of incredible quickness, punching power, and a killer instinct. He's among the best at taking advantages of mistakes and in going for the kill when his opponent is hurt.

Today I saw a fight that I missed the first time.... Anderson Silva vs. Chris Leben. Silva simply destroyed Leben. I look forward to seeing more of him.

Yeah, I was really surprised an athletic and formally-trained fighter like Vitor Belfort didn't take him apart, but then again Belfort is a real head case.

Wasnt the chuck vitor fight pre vitor headcase days? He didnt get that way until after his sister was kidnapped, right?

People who refer to "eye gouging" as an *excuse* have clearly never been in a fight.

JC I'm not surprised that your a Tito fan, you whine and make excuses just like him. Actually Tito has more class than you as your comments are just so grade 9 its ridiculous. Tito didn't have the balls to come in close and thorw combos, head fakes that could lead to an effective shoot. Those feable attempts to grab Chuck's legs were mainly because he was scared to get hit in the face. We saw how few punches to took for Chuck to drop him like a wet rag so spare me the excuses.

I'm sure I have been in more fights than you as I use to actually fight in martial arts tournaments.

Liddell-Belfort was at 37.5 and that was before his sister was kidnapped. When "Old Vitor" became "New Vitor" can be argued, but it was a while ago.
