To each his own. I purchased it about 15 years ago for $17. And I also have a reading copy, about fine condition. I just fondly remember that book.

I just bought a vf/nm+ for $40 the other week off eBay. I was pleasantly surprised that the seller could grade. It's little wins like that which unfortunately make me try my luck on eBay from time to time. It's a great storyline with fantastic artwork. Well worth the price of admission.

Hmm, if memory serves me right, I sold a nice copy of that book (looked like a VF or so) for $6 about a year ago, BUT the cover was detached. I believe I cited to a pretty high 9.2 slab result in my store description, like $300-$400, and said "Get your lower grade copy for only $6!!"

 

Adams first cover on Batman doesn't sell for any sort of premium. I see reader copies for a couple of bucks.

The book predates GL #76 by 3 months and it's the 1st Denny O'Neil/Neal Adams story.
