Anyway, aren't they being reprinted soon in the same format the Superman Dailies and Sundays were and that came out last year?

And what format is that? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif Maybe I'll wait on those. Thanks for sharing yours, Scrooge. smile.gif

Batman Sundays

I might actually even buy the Batman strips again to have them in color as I believe this new collection is in color. These are cheap considering what you get.

awesome, just awesome. i have my copy given to me - along with the Superman edition - by my grandmother back in 75 or 77. of course the dustjacket is looooong gone, so it's nice to see what it actually looks like!

That's really great! I can sort of relate because what I think of as my copy is actually the totally trashed one that I read endlessly at the library as a kid. The librarian actually mailed it to me about ten years later, minus dust jacket. So when I think of that book, I just see a black cover, falling apart. I have another copy I bought from a CBG ad around 85-86 but I forget what the cover looks like too.

Like you and Nearmint, I read the Superman one at a very early age too but didn't care for it as much as the Bats. The library had the Tracy volume too and that one was like "read once" and that's it. It probably helped that I could watch Batman on tv every day whereas I to this day have never seen any episodes of the Superman tv show.

I've never seen the Shazam one!

Now try to put yourself back into the 1970s and you're a kid and that's your first full introduction to Batman in the comics! Wowza! I just love the Batman Indian Chief or Bat-Sub stories. The one from Detective 29 always stood out too.

The B/W Sprang art inside really shows how good he was!

Absolutely! His art is beautiful. I can't imagine these stories being any better with color.
