Here's the back cover, to show the dust shadow. It looks darker in the scan, frankly, as does the light crease at the upper left corner.... in fact it's hardly a crease at all, just a line of light surface soiling. For some reason, this scanner is tilting red, which is making the staples look darker than they are... in fact they are rust-free mid-gray and still showing some shine.
