Valiant Man you are awesome!! Thanks for this data. The one thing that really stuck out in my mind is the continued influx of Wolverine books for grading.

I had thought that there would be no need to slab some of these books, ie Wolverine 1 and WLS 1, but apparently there is. I haven't tracked these books for a while now, but last I remember you could get a WLS 1 cgc 9.6 shipped for under $50. You must have a cost basis pretty much near nothing to keep sending in these books.

 

The Spider-Man #1 silver - 50 new copies? I wonder how many were prescreens by some dealers that can't move them for $1 but would probably have better luck moving them slabbed in 9.8 for $25.

 

Hulk 181 also caught my eye - specifically - the 4 in 9.8, is that an increase of 1 from the previous census? The 51 in 9.6 - anyone know that change?

 

Why is Web of Spiderman up there? That's a $30 book in 9.6 if that!

 

The Gemstone FCBD, Born #1, Batman 608/614, and Wol. v3 #1 don't surprise me all that much as I would anticipate that hot moderns would make up the most submissions in a given time period.

Does anybody know how often CGC updates the census? The date range you gave for your list valiantman is 7/18/03 to 7/30/03. We're only talkin' 13 days there. Does that seem right that all those books were submitted in just a 13 day period or am I missing something? confused.gif

The CGC Census is updated as often as they want to update it.

13 days is the quickest I've ever seen... but they admittedly update more often

in the summer to coincide with the big Cons.

 

Normally, other times of the year... it's been about 45 to 60 days between updates.

This to me, is the most useful information yet. I say this because we can all look in the census, but to be able to see what is being submitted in high quantity is very interesting.

 

Is there a way to see what was recently submitted for Gold and Silver Age only (sort only books before 1970). Obvioulsly, modern books are going to be submitted the most, then Bronze, etc.

 

Just want to see if there are certain books in the Silver-Age that are still being submitted in quantity (i.e. Cap 100, IM 1, Hulk 102, etc.).

 

Too bad I can only give you Five Stars ValiantMan.

Hey, V-Man, a really great addition to your last post would be to go ahead and list the GRADES RECEIVED by the comics that have been newly graded on that Top 50 list. For example, if there were 14 new ASM #1s graded, you'd list 9.2, 9.2, 9.0, 8.5, 8.0, 5.5, 5.5, 5.5, 5.0... etc!

 

BTW, how are you generating the list of new additions? Is there identifying information in the data that you've downloaded that shows the new grades? Or is it harder, and this is my guess, and you are having to compare the current set of 7/30 data to the previous set of 7/18 data?
