But remember the criterion of minimum of 25 submissions. So lots of Golden Age books with no chance in hell of getting VF or better (and therefore have not been submitted in large quantities) are filtered out. Remember: any CGC census is going to be skewed by people trying to hit the jackpot with a 9.4+ submission. Lots of lower grades to be sure, but how many of them are "oops" submissions?

 

Since Golden Age is mostly mid-grade at best, there is little premium received by the seller for CGCing it, and therefore little incentive to submit in the first place.

 

Likewise, one reason (one of perhaps many) DCs are lower in population is the lower rate-of-return the market currently rewards for slabbing that kind of material.

IMHO many of the best silver DCs have already been slabbed. I don't expect the census on silver DC keys to double over the next 2 yrs. Many early silver DCs (b4 the Boston collection) just do not exist in Cgc 9.0 up. No warehouse finds or bulk bundled remainders. confused-smiley-013.gif

hey Valiantman - - I just used your handy CGC Analyzer again and discovered a slight flaw: Try searching for Green Lantern. There arent two to choose from (three actually) and what you get when you choose the only choic available is a combo of GA and SA (like this: 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,...) followed by a Vol#3 list for the current series. Is this also the case for all GA and SA titles with the same title? (are there others? Three Musketeers? Binky?) Or just a Green Lantern goof? caused by a yellow impurity in your code!

Actually, I'm surprised you guys haven't found a ton more bugs...

that code was written over the course of an afternoon.

By many, I would imagine over 50% of the major silver DC keys in fn to nm have already been slabbed. They have hi-$$ value so most clean, unrestored copies have been Cgc'd to compare the collector's raw grading w/ Cgc's. 893scratchchin-thumb.gif
