Only hitting a double bull twice on one round of Darts could be any better than this.

Finally hit a 100 Pt. 2

When I first wrote about hitting a ?100? I was so swollen with pride that one of my entries reached that majestic milestone. Now I have reached that at least 40 times with multiple journals not to mention a few that reached over 200. I would be lying if I told you I was not looking forward to hitting 300 views on my journals. No, this 100 is a bit more, I finally have 100 registered CGC certified books. I did reach 100 encapsulated books a small while ago but not all of them are on the registry in sets. At least if they are I have no idea where they are located.

I am waiting patiently for the likes of the limited series ?X-Infernus? to be added as well as the X-men/Alpha Flight ?2? book series where they went to Asgard. If you haven?t read this mini/maxi (if I remember correctly this also contributed to X-men Annual #9 and New Mutants Special #1 along with a few Issues of their normal series, #200 and #35 respectively) series then I must recommend this one?then slab it when done. The honor of my 100th encapsulated book (on the registry) goes to my copy of The New Mutants #88 in a 9.8 signature edition. I fear I am becoming addicted to the signed books as quickly as I succumbed to getting certified graded comics.

I understand the rules implemented by CGC for the signature series and I have yet to hear back from them since I found out there will be three collaborators on one of the books I would love to have signed yet have no possible way to get there. I am hoping to send them the book and get all three signatures. Of course it will be my 4.5 of New Mutants #15 and if I can swing it my already graded 9.8 copy of New Mutants #1(dare I do so even with the possibility the book gets?.gasp?.downgraded). I sent them an e-mail and received a response saying that they will forward it along since I am not doing this in bulk. I have not had a response. I plan on calling today.

Of course I realize I am only a collector, but isn?t that what makes this hobby. Why don?t they (CGC) have instances where we (collectors) can send in these books to get signed? Are they trying to work with stores, companies and Auction sites so they can get a larger percent? I wanted to bid on a copy of New Mutants #98 in a 9.9 condition signed by Rob Liefeld. In the first hour it was already at a $1000 bid (currently at $1,125.00). My absolute maximum I was able to bid without going into my funds that pay for my bills was a $1000. (C?mon winning lottery ticket?.stressing the winning part). Am I OK with that? Yes, but I am not OK with not having the ability to send my book to a company to get signed for me due to the rules and regulations they impose.

Wow, did I get off subject. Anyway?.I finally reached a 100 and I am happy to have done so. I am on my way to two hundred, of course now that I became a member reaching 200 will be quicker because I am getting ready to send in my New Mutants 1 through 10 to get graded (more on that later). 98% of my books I write about. Most of them are memories dealing with that book or others close to it, if you enjoy my journal?s try reading my experiences with each book. Eventually I will edit them all and make them crisp to read, maybe I should do that for my journal?s too. After all writing these journal?s are fun, sharing the experiences is also fun, and knowing that there are so many of you out there along the journey with me on our own separate ways is enjoyable to think about.

Thanks for reading

PS. Since originally writing this I have made the call to CGC for the answers to some of the things I have ranted for and am happy with the conversation I had. The person I talked to was very informative and patient with my questions which I seemed to remember more and more as we talked. Although I did not yet get an answer about sending in a small amount of books I understand the business stand point and hope they do reassess the abilities they do have to what they hope to accomplish for us as collectors. If that didn?t make sense I might go into it deeper. The second part of this Post Scriptum is although I do have the copy of New Mutants #88 in my possession it has still not hit my registry due to the previous owner has not taken it off of his. (I hope I did so successfully for the ?Incredible Hulk #181? I sold). I hope that this will be resolved before I receive any more CGC graded books. I would hate for The New Mutants #88 to be book 101.

PPS. Please add the following series to the registry. The picture might be a slight hint.
