My Stan Lee Signature Series
....and now my collection shall be complete....
For one month I decided not to have anything to do with CGC (other than the journals), whether it was sending in to get books graded or to purchase them through auction. I planned on doing this for the month of October. I failed. As anyone knows who is a member of the registry, CGC sent out a mass e-mail stating that Stan Lee was doing a private signing for the Signature Series. I already decided to now purchase or spend any money on anything other than raw comic books. My dilemma was akin to a newly potty trained toddler deciding whether to go use the potty or continue playing with his toys.
I seriously questioned my comic book geekhood if I did not send something in to get at least one book signed. I made a list of five books and instead of deciding on one, I decided on four books to have Stan Lee?s illustrious scrawl over the front of the books. I sent them in under two invoices. One invoice consisted of two books already graded. They were Amazing Spider-man #129 in a 9.2 (white pages) and a copy of Daredevil #1 in a 3.5 (off-white pages). The other invoice consisted of a raw copy of New Mutants #1 and an Avengers #57.
On the 10th of November I checked my status especially after reading about XXXPHOENIX finding out what he received for the two books he sent in to get graded with the Stan Lee?s signature. I allowed my suspense to build before I brought up the invoice in question (the second invoice has still not been graded). The first book I was able to see was my Daredevil #1. There was no change. However, what was this with my Amazing Spider-Man #129, what did they do? And am I happy or dissatisfied with it?
Thanks for Reading
