I'll pay you to stop bidding

Sometimes you just simply want the comic more than the other person. Simple sentimentality, filling a set, important 1st appearance, favorite artist...whatever, the list goes on. But wouldn't it be cool to get in a discussion w/ your competative bidder(s) and argue about who WANTS it more...and then articulate your reason? Some collectors obviously have gobs of money, so you know some of those purchases are investment driven. So how about a round table...this rich guy (not trying to harsh on the "rich guy" just setting the stage) wants a comic that is rare for investment, but someone else wants it because it was the first comic they read, or some other person wants it because it's one of the last issues in their set, and another wants it because it came out on a specific date...anniversary, birthday, whatever and so on. Just saying...I'd love to be able to communicate with fellow bidders and plead my case. The "rich person" who would have bought it at any cost might just say: "sure, you go get it buddy if it means that much to you...I'll catch something else."

I know I'm dreaming here, and it goes against the auction business model and all other manners of business. But it would be cool to have the extra discussion.

What do you all think?

PS: I used to say my favorite comics slip away. But now I realize they snipe away.
