Or Buy! Buy! Buy!

This past Sunday the registry was down for three hours, at least it was slated to be down for three hours. Normally it's at night when they update the site for maintenance, this time it was slated for the afternoon. And asynchronous as I check the site out it wasn't until Surfer99 pointed out the change that I took notice.

There is now a search eBay button for this initial update. I tested it out with New Mutants 58 of course, there were nine. Then Annual #4 fir the same series. Same thing, no hits. The third one I tried was Thanos Quest #2 second printing. It brought up every CGC copy of Thanos Quest there was. I'm sure there are still bugs to this but there are some books that resemble each other in this set. The two newest one shots are an example in this.

But do we need this latest edition? Could CGC have come up with something better? Maybe link the book with a digital copy? Or better yet maybe have it link to the GPA for price comparisons. I believe the NGC portion if this site has something like this. I can check on eBay, I've done just fine doing this. I've even checked alternate sites for books I needed.

I'll use it from time to time in sure, but I am not sure working on the registry is the way to go. Did eBay pay them? Was it a customer request to make it easier to find books for their collection? I'll admit it's a best gimmick, kind if like multiple covers, because even with the outside changed, it's still the same story inside.
