Or Either way I am nuts
I cracked it open. I ripped asunder the thick plastic holding the well fast. I cut the thinner plastic holding the entombed ComicBook and slowly, gingerly, and painstakingly cut praying my steady hand would stay steady and wouldn't slip. Twice, two more times then I would car for the blade made its way towards the book. Halfway down, I stopped. Fortunately it was enough.
I slid the book into the precut bag allowing for a spot for the signature. Blue painters tape outlined the area I wanted to forever glance upon the ink if my choice. Money being an issue I had to choose one or the other. A previous journal listed my choice of cracking three of my New Mutants for Bob McLeod or either ASM 252 or 300 for Stan Lee. My original New Mutants is not a factor, I shall be having that book signed by both. It's the love of the book dictating spending the absurd amount of money on a book that will never financially achieve what I believe it is worth.
Either way the process has begun, the decision has been made and the die cast...ok enough cliches but my decision is too late to turn back. After five minutes and a cracked slab later my heart still pumped anxiously as I placed the book safely aside.
Thanks for Reading
