Top Tens

Or five times two

I love top tens. The main reason why is after 75 plus years of comic books making its way onto newspaper stands all those years ago there are so many different titles to see. During the boardie dinner in Philadelphia I was privy to someone's pride and joys. They were AMAZING.

I even decided to pick up my first golden age book even though it wasn't the book I was originally planning about. I even learned a bit more about the atomic age of comics. These journals and Instagram has been showering me with new covers. Unfortunately this might very well change the way I collect comic books. I love the copper age. This was the age that had the greatest effect within the comic market which hasn't been seen since the end of the atomic age. This time it was greed, multiple covers, and get rich quick schemes rather than senate hearings.

I wrote down some lists including my top ten that would survive a purge, I made ten of them (go figure) and will write them in two parters rather than individual journals. I'm sure I would have no problem writing ninety journals but eighteen could be so much more precise. The next top ten list will be my favorite eighties covers. Of course the kicker is going to be I cannot place New Mutants #15 in any of my lists. It wouldn't be fair if you always guessed what my number one was.

Oh and as for the amazing in all capitals, it wasn't a hint that they were Amazing Spider-Man titles, it's just that the colors were vibrant and fresh, so fresh that it pushed me over the edge to start budgeting for a couple of them. What books changed the way you collect?

Thanks for Reading
