It really happened...

Like a lot of people, I enjoy getting me weekly fix of new comics. What I enjoy even more is picking up Silver and Bronze Age books I havent read before. I recently read Cap 151 and 152 featuring the Scorpion and Mr. Hyde which was a great story. The problem is, these books are oftentimes more costly than the Modern books so I am forced to go back and reread some of the great stories already in my collection. This isnt so bad since I tend to forget what I read after several years.

Once such book I just reread was Giant Size Defenders 3 featuring the Grandmaster. The Defenders enlist the help of Daredevil to battle a series of alien foes in a game of life and death with the Grandmaster. I love these types of stories that are along the same lines and Contest of Champions and Secret Wars. Anyway, spoiler...it turns out badly for Daredevil and the Sub Mariner, neither of which survive the match up with their opponents. I thought this would end up being one of those things where the battlefield ended up being in their minds or something...no way they could really die right? Well, I was wrong and they really didn't make it. Fortunately the other members of the Defenders did survive and as a result the contest was one, at which point the Grandmaster brought them back to life. Wow...I knew dude was an Elder of the Universe and all that, but did not know he could bring someone back from death. Crazy.
