Busy day, big decision, sore feet...
I planned on just attending this show on Saturday since CGC wasn't going to be there but I decided to take the day off work today as well and go look at comics. I figure the more time I spend doing that on my own, the more time I have to hang with the family and cruise the floor. It worked out well for me. The highlights of my comic searching landed me a NM minus copy of TOS 94...the first appearance of MODOK...and, a VG copy of Sgt. Fury 13...the second Silver Age appearance of Captain America outside the Avengers. I also picked up a few other reading copies of TOS and some Iron Fist.
The BIG question I had going into the con was whether or not to crack open my Hulk 181 CGC 8.0 for a Len Wein and Herb Trimpe sig. I filled out the paperwork and brought the book with me just in case I was able to meet up with Hank Pym who graciously agreed to help me out as a witness...since CGC wasn't present. As luck would have it he was available, and a very nice guy. In the end I decided a signed Hulk 181, even with a potential drop a grade, means more to me than an unsigned Hulk 181 with a guaranteed CGC 8.0 grade. It was nerve wracking watching Hank bust open that CGC case but I was OK once it was done...then I just got excited thinking about those signatures. I left my paperwork and most prized possession with Hank and now the waiting begins.
Looking forward to going back tomorrow. I will post more pictures here as well.
Til next time...
