  1. When I saw this cover, I thought of two ways in which this is a 'pre-hero' appearance. 1) Obviously the character Ice Man, pre-dates the character in the original X-Men #1 (1963). 2) Man found in block of ice, pre-dates the discovery of Captain America by the Avengers in Avengers #4. So I bought the book, from Heritage a few weeks ago.
  2. Rich is great to buy from. He could teach a master class in packaging (envelopes, boxes, he does it all!). And the book(s) are always strictly graded. He's a tremendous asset to these boards. Looking forward to his next sales thread . . . . (Who sed dat?) Seriously, just received two Strange Worlds comics from Rich. Everything was perfect, including the smile on my face. Thanks Rich!
  3. gawd I'm getting frickin' old..., You and me both.
  4. This may have been covered elsewhere, but why do there seem to be so many "Harvey file copies" in circulation? I once bought one years ago, raw on eBay from jscomics. It came with no documentation to say it was a file copy. I sent it to CGC to be slabbed because it was a really nice book and it came back noted as a Harvey file copy. How did they know? Additionally, while I still owned that issue someone was selling that very same issue as a file copy on ebay. So there is more than one file copy of some Harvey issues out there. Lately blissard on ebay has been selling lots of Harvey file copies. Where are they all coming from? How are they identified as 'file' copies and not just hi-grade books? And why aren't there any Marvel, DC, Charlton, or other comic company file copies around? (Except, of course, the Gaines file copies of EC books.) Hmm.

  6. Mr. Awesome (Hector) sent me a really sweet FF #21. Flawless packaging. Box arrived in 8.0 condition. Comic was even better. My thanks to you!
  7. Kaspar bought some Marvel square-bounds from me and the transaction was smooth as silk. Thanks for your purchases! Nice to meet you and I hope we can buy/sell something again in the future.
  8. Perhaps this has been dealt with elsewhere but . . . is CGC introducing new categories for graded books? Beyond Universal, Restored, and Qualified? I looked at an order of mine that has the status "Graded" online and along with the many books where Category = Universal, there are a few where Category = C-1. What the heck is C-1? Thanks, C.
  9. Just did another deal with Ed for a couple of Spidey slabs. The man is fast with the shipping, great on the packaging, and outstanding and friendly to chat with. Thanks Ed! It's always a pleasure to buy some of your books. (thumbs u
  10. Today! My first Don/Maggie Thompson book and only my third pedigree book!
  11. I just saw it. And it was a great 'comic book film.' One of the best ever. Kudos to Mr. Singer and the cast. I do wonder why film-makers can't credit the original writer and artist: Chris Claremont and John Byrne. I know a million screen-writers are used, and the story is altered for the big screen. The credits are a mile long at the end, and even the director's dog's psychiatrist gets a credit but no, nothing for the creators of X-Men 141 and 142. Come to think of it would it kill them to throw Jack Kirby's name into the scroll of credits? He is merely the co-creator of Professor X, Beast, Magneto, and Quicksilver, four of the major characters in the film. Honor the creators who went before you, I say.
  12. Andy bought some Atlas war books from me recently and the transaction could really not have been better. Thanks for the buys, quick payment and great communications! (thumbs u
