  1. It is clearly the same book, Dr. Frankenstein's response sucked and was just b.s. Hopefully the mods can boot him or ban him from using sales threads to try and rip off fellow board-members again. And I don't know either party...
  2. Huge Kudos to Chandler & Sharon @ DWC..They added Stan Lee, Joe Simon and John Romita to my "Legends of Marvel" book. They also have the magic touch as it maintained the 9.8 grade..Thanks again you guys rock!
  3. A book that is much harder to find in 9.8 then I thought. It took me well over a year to find this after submitting a few to cgc and only getting as high as 9.6...
  4. Major Kudos to Chandler & Sharon aka Desert Wind Comics.. While I was in California watching G.I. Joe on opening weekend they were hard at work in Chicago getting this done for me..Thanks again
  5. Very nice...Strange thing happened to me last night...I was outside at about 2am and this guy pulls up in like a 60's/70's muscle car and is just looking at me really weird and says, "Better Watch Out For Zombies" Then he just drives off.....
  6. NICE! Thanks, I was surprised to see that this was the only ss when I checked the census.
  7. Hey Dan tomorrow we will be announcing our East Coast Legends Tour which will include Joe Simon as well as several others. So keep you eyes open. PM us for more details. Chandler & Sharon Rice Desert Wind Comics Now that sounds awesome Can't wait for the details, I've got at least one book that has been begging me to add Joe Simon's sweet sig to the cover
  8. You're the one that beat me?!?!? At least it went to a good home! Thank you snipeswipe.com Seriously though, I got tired of always losing out on auctions or being bid up last minute so I found these guys (snipeswipe) and it has been working out great.
  9. Just got this in the mail..Finally a sweet ebay deal..I paid a whopping $69.50 for all these great signatures!
  10. Man, After looking at some of those covers I guess I like the discussion and legend of Ditko more than a lot of his work... I would like to ask the "historians" of the board if they think Steve Ditkos body of work would still be held in the same regard today if he hadn't worked on spidey and become so "unavailable" to the fans?????
  11. What's the source for that Ditko quotation? Ditko interview in Masters of Imagination: The Comic Book Artists Hall of Fame by Mike Benton (Taylor Publishing, 1994) ISBN-10 0878338594, ISBN-13 978-0878338597) & quoting from fanzine Marvel Main #4 (1969), published by Mike Howell and Richard Howell
  12. A couple of interesting things on Mr. Ditko In 1987, Ditko was presented a Comic-Con International Inkpot Award in absentia, accepted on his behalf by Renegade Press publisher Deni Loubert, who had published Ditko's World the previous year. Ditko refused the award, and returned it to Loubert after having phoned her to say, "Awards bleed the artist and make us compete against each other. They are the most horrible things in the world. How dare you accept this on my behalf". At his behest, Loubert returned the award to the convention organizers. Ditko resides in New York City as of 2008. He has refused to give interviews or make public appearances since the 1960s, explaining in 1969 that, "When I do a job, it’s not my personality that I’m offering the readers but my artwork. It’s not what I'm like that counts; it’s what I did and how well it was done.... I produce a product, a comic art story. Steve Ditko is the brand name". He has, however, contributed numerous essays to Snyder's fanzine The Comics.
  13. I asked him to add snake eyes to each book. I just told him that way it would stand out if I added others like Byung-Hun Lee (stormshadow) to the #9. He was cool about everything, Took the time to talk to each person, shake there hand as well as take photos with you or the newly signed merch.
  14. I have not heard of this option..I will be going to sdcc and was wondering how this works..Like what if I was interested in getting a Stan Lee SS. Also are there additonal fees to have cgc obtain the signature for me? Thanks in advance.
