  1. You are doing great! There is nothing like finding these babies in the wild and subbing them yourself. You are safe from me for a couple of months. Then when next con season hits . . . Thanks. I know it's only a matter of time before you (or Greggy) return to the top spot. I've got my own stockpile to send to CGC of more, including the hard-to-find World's Greatest Super Heroes Child's Vitamins giveaway from 1977. It's not in the best condition, but it will be the only graded copy in the world.
  2. A recent acquisition added to my DC Bronze Age First Issues set. Only two 9.8s exist. I also own one of the five 9.4s in existence.
  3. There's a new sheriff in town (albeit briefly I'm sure) ... First, an upgrade to my current 9.4... Next, purchased raw for $10 from my good buddy Wade at Comic Madness in Levittown, PA... This book I have had a hard time finding, and can't justify spending a lot of money on it in a higher grade... The jewel of this submission. Purchased raw for $40 at Mike Carbo's show in NYC back in February... Another DC #1 I've had a hard time finding in a higher grade... Purchased raw from my friend Steve Snyder at a Philadelphia Comic-Con a few months back... Yet another Bronze DC #1 I've had a hard time finding in a grade higher than 9.2...
  4. Nobody's comics are as nice as Greggy's. Seriously, he should have a pedigree named after him.
  5. Another DC Bronze Age First Issue... Super DC Giant #13, highest graded. Two copies exist. Greggy owns the other one. Big thanks to Stephen Ritter and Matt Nelson at Worldwide Comics for contributing to my "Be Like Greggy" initiative. I have to tell you folks, trying to be like Greggy is expensive... but rewarding if you love bronze DCs!
  6. Another DC Bronze #1 just arrived, courtesy of SeanfingH. You Rock!
  7. Thanks! It was tough to find raw. I thought it would come back with a higher grade but oh, well...
  8. Just back yesterday - more DC Bronze first issues.
  9. Just got these DC Bronze Age First Issues today from Comiclink.com, trying to keep up with SeanfingH and Greggy...
  10. G.I. War Tales is the highest graded. The Magazineland is the highest graded copy and one of only two CGC graded copies in existence. The Swamp Thing is an upgrade from a 7.0 copy I bought a year ago. The million dollar question: How long does it take Greggy to acquire 9.8 copies of G.I. War Tales #1 and the Magazineland promo?
  11. Another addition to my DC Bronze Age First Issues set... And my new oldest comic, a 1946 Captain Marvel Wheaties Giveaway that I practically stole on ebay...
  12. "To be." I've never met those guys, but Seanfingh and Greggy are legends!
  13. {Insert drooling graemlin} DC #1 whore It's true. I can't help myself. Wow... Thanks, number one and number two. You guys have collections of legend. I aspire to be the both of you.
  14. Here are a few books that I got this week in my never ending quest to have the best DC Bronze Age First Issues Set and DC 1st Issue Special Set.
  15. Here are some more shots of our comic room. Thanks for the posting tip, zuckuss2003!
  16. When I say I'm going to do something, WATCH OUT! Since announcing my new strategy to refocus my comic collecting efforts, I have made significant progress: 1. I have moved from number 9 to number 6 in the DC Bronze Age First Issues set. 2. I have moved from number 7 to number 2 in the Superman/Batman set. 3. I have moved from number 8 to number 6 in the Transformers 1984 set. Time to go spend ... i mean INVEST ... more money!
  17. Number one, number one You're my second to noneAfter being a Collector's Society Member for three years, I can't put into words how thrilled I was this morning when I saw that I had won a Best in Set Award this year for one of my Captain America Fallen Son sets. When I joined the Society, my goal was to earn as many points as possible in the overall standings. Now, I want to take a different approach. With a little work, determination, and of course discretionary income, I'm confident I can compete again next year. While quite a few of my sets are in the top ten, I hope to focus on the following categories to compete for Best of Set awards in 2010:DC Bronze First IssuesSuperman/BatmanTransformers 1984Thanks to the Collectors Society and CGC for reigniting my childhood love of comic collecting. And congratulations to all the 2009 winners!
