Jim,
That is a feat that I doubt will be repeated!
And what a wonderful display to see them all in one picture.
Congratulations and take a much deserved bow.
Agree that Buckler was outstanding and under appreciated. His private works after he retired are incredible.
Met him only one time in 1996 @ Heroes Con. Great guy. Paul
Thanks Paul. I appreciate your help!

And Rich brought George Perez in. Thats quite a linage right there.
Feel free to share the paintings. His work on your books was earliest, and some might say, most inspired work

I'm happy to have helped, it really is good to see them all in one place. Rich Buckler is too under appreciated, showcase your set
This collection will stay with me till my last dying breath.
I totally agree that Rich Buckler is too underappreciated, Seems Marvel had him doing lots of books and covers at the same time. He was spread out a little too much but still did amazing work. Funny it was Jack Kirby who recommended Rich to Stan Lee and Rich wound up working just as hard as Jack. Have you seen Rich Bucklers paintings? I think they are amazing.

Impressive! Were any self-submitted?
Thanks!
Unfortunately all of my copies where well read as a kid and later sold in the early 90's.

Great pick up. I was bidding... But dropped out in the early $1000s.
Paul-
Thanks Paul!
I had a feeling you may have been bidding.
Thank you for the AT#5. Nice book. It has inspired me to pursue a complete 9.8 Astonishing Tales collection, not with the same intensity as the Deathlok subset though.

Congrats! That was some aggressive bidding on that book. I thought the price had topped out yesterday, I was surprised to see the final hammer price, a lot of people were chasing hard.
I saw a few big bomber bid's from guys, the odd one is the 4th to last bid, someone had their bid withdrawn??
Microchip,
Thanks!
I had figured that who ever had the #33 9.8 wasn't going to sell it anytime soon. When I saw it up for auction I new I had to pony up because if I didn't get it it might be years before one would become available again. You never know though, with the new price paid someone may get the incentive have a cherry copy graded and put up for sale.
I think the 4th to the last bid may have been my max bid I had put in earlier.
Now my quest is a 9.8 #27. Hopefully one might come available.
Again thanks.

You gotta sort that # 32 out and get it on the registry, great set.
Thanks,
Yes still waiting for it to be released by the previous owner. Is there a way I can notify the previous owner?

That sounds very similar to my own story. I was living in Turkey at the time and I remember seeing Astonishing Tales number 30 on the rack. I would have been about 10. And like you Deathlok has always been my favorite character. nice set. Have you set up a registry set? Paul-
Cool..
Not sure about the registry and what it is..
Thanks!

Nice! Looks to me like a 6.5 to a 7.0. The defenders are one of my favorites.
