  1. I don't get it....let me ask again... Open question to all buyers. How do you know if you are going to be paying a good price for a book if it is outside the scope of Overstreet, and there are no recorded sales on Comiclink, no recent sales on Ebay and no one you know has bought one recently? How do you figure out what the book is worth on the open market? R. It comes down to what you're willing to pay for it. If it means a lot to you, you're willing to pay more for it.
  2. What difference does this make as long as the grade is accurate? Why should it matter if do or don't quote GPA when naming the price? I'm going to look at it when I decide on the price or when I'm deciding to buy. People know if they want to pay full GPA on a book or not. I agree, Transplant. What difference does it make if the buyer is willing to pay the price and the seller offers a full refund if not satisfied? The bottom line is, a comic is worth what somebody is willing to pay for it. All any guide is is an indicator of what a book has sold for in the past. As a buyer, if I don't like the prices, I move on. No harm, no foul.
  3. Kudos back to you Mikey for the quick payment, and the kind words :hail:
  4. Kudos to joeypost for being understanding of my screw up on our latest deal. I owe you one.
  5. Kudos back to you inthehottub, fast payment and a great guy to work with (thumbs u
  6. BIG Kudos to Silver Surfer for a great batch of CGC 9.8 Thors. Great packaging, fast shipping and awesome freebies :hail: You are the man!
  7. Well, I'll name names. And the first name would be mine. I'm pretty certain that Richard is talking about me. And he has a good point. Even if he's not talking about me, I'm guilty of what he's saying. So, for my part, I apologize to those of you who feel like Richard does. It's easy to get caught up in trying to move stuff and to forget that after a round or two, others might be sick of seeing the same old stuff. I also apologize for having two threads on the front page at the moment, as I didn't mean to do that.
  8. Is there any interest in a full Werewolf By Night set including Giant Sizes and Marvel Spotlight 2-4?
  9. That's the key...don't take no personally and as a seller, don't take lowball offers personally. Good call there, Jim
  10. I picked this up, not because of the comic, but because of who signed it. Joe Simon, one of the original creators of Captain America.
  11. I haven't had any trouble PMing people with offers (blue808, Rich_Henn, and Transplant all come to mind). I can say that I am never offended by a PM. I don't consider any offer insulting and am glad to chat with anybody who makes an offer. That stinks that you've had trouble with some people. If you'd like a longer list of great boardies that I've PM'd and had no trouble with at all, I'd be happy to send it to you.
  12. Kudos to greggy Dawgwindu inthehottub comicgrinder For some very fast payments on VCC and post-VCC purchases. Thanks guys, you were all great to deal with.
  13. Kudos to blue808 for two exceptional comics (Capt. Marvel #29-9.8 and Swamp Thing #8-9.6 or better). Bill, you are a credit to these boards and a great guy to work with
  14. Just a quick update. I was able to get in touch with comicgrinder, and to make a long story short, he made good on his purchase and apologized for losing track of it. He was also not used to the PM system. Thankfully, no probation needed.
  15. As much as I hate to, I think I should mention comicgrinder. He posted a both via PM and on my sales thread for Silver Surfer #6 a week ago. I've PMd him 4 times since his initial PM asking for his address and asking him to please contact me, but so far not a peep. I'm hoping he was able to send a PM but hasn't been able to see ones he has gotten, so maybe he'll see this and get in touch with me. Not ready for probation just yet, but hopefully a mention in this thread will help resolve the issue.
  16. Kudos back at you for the quick payment. It was a pleasure doing business with you. (thumbs u
  17. Kudos to ft88 for 4 great bronze/copper comics. Great service and accurately graded. Thanks Ed!
  18. I like the Buscema cover a lot Yep, I almost expect to see the Hulk land on that car in the background (thumbs u
  19. It is only a warning. If this were a real emergency it would be followed by directions to get to your closest attic. There you would find multiple copies of Tec 27 that needed protecting. This thread is only a warning.
  20. That's really good news, Kenny. I'm glad to hear there's a happy ending to the whole deal . Hopefully DiceX has turned a corner and is back on his way up.
  21. Kudos to transplant for the other side of that trade. A sweet Adams Witching Hour and a very nice raw Wrightson Tower of Shadows
  22. Cap, that was cool of you to include me in the kudo...you're very welcome
