  1. I disagree.

I believe that forum members should be held accountable for their transactions whether they're here or in a different sales venue (like ebay) - there's no need to create a separate list, because why would you want to deal with someone who rips people off on ebay, but plays nice here on the boards?

The whole point of a probation list is to quickly & easily warn your fellow board members so they avoid dealing with people who've shown that they don't exactly consider uphelding their end of a bargain a high priority - having two different lists that both need to be continually updated seems counter-intuitive & cumbersome.

My vote is towards modifying the current Probation List to also include off-board transactions - similar to what got CS added to the Hall of Shame.

+1 I don't care if you're a thief on ebay or here, if you don't have any ethics there, I don't want to buy from you here.

    +1

  2. Im wondering when/why the probation list became "Forum only" ? Does anyone have a summary without having to wade through it. David ?

Here are the rules for the thread since day one . . .

I'm thinking we should start a Forum Sales "Probation" Thread where forum members can post notices of non-paying members, i.e., those that have posted the little guy :takeit: in response to sales threads, and suddenly developed amnesia when it comes time to pay. :P

You can also post, "I paid for it, now where is it" messages here as well. Probation is probation.

I suggest a 1-month waiting period on any transaction before outing the scoundrel here. If the issue hasn't been resolved in a month, chances are, it's gone to the dogs! :sumo:

Updates will be provided when possible. Names will be removed from the Probation List upon notification of resolution between the buyer and seller. Let's try to be responsible here, and have the thread serve a purpose to the community.

The points in bold far outweigh the location of a transaction imo

Good points - I believe Count proposed the additional language when he was making all of those fancy charts. :insane: Of course (as usual  he went over the line) and I had to edit it significantly, but kept some of the words . . . lol
