  16. I decided to just stick to my normal method of selling (eBay), apologies for the post. Hi everyone! First time posting a sale thread here but looking to expand my audience beyond eBay (100% positive feedback w/ 100+ sales) and r/comicswap (16 confirmed swaps). I've read over the rules and think I have them all down, but if I mess up, please let me know so I can make any corrections. Sale Information: This sale will run from Sunday, June 25 through Saturday, July 1 11:59 PM CST, at which point I will close all claims. I aim to make a few more posts throughout the week with, centered around some theme. The initial post is just a random mix of things I had on hand. I will reserve the second post in this thread as a table of contents of sorts to make it easier to see what is available/has been posted. Sale Rules: No probation/Hall of Shame members. First in the thread gets the book and will trump any on-going PMs. I try to price accordingly, but don't always hit the mark. I'll happily entertain reasonable offers via PM, especially if you're interested in multiple books. Payment via PayPal G&S only. Once the sale closes (July 1, 2023 @ 11:59 PM), I will send PayPal invoices on July 2, 2023. Payment will be due within 48 hours of invoices being sent out (by end of day July 4, 2023) so that I can ship everything out Wednesday, July 5, 2023. No open returns. If an item arrives in a condition other than shown/described and it was due to my misrepresentation, I'm happy to work something out but I'm not responsible for the mailman's negligence (that said, I've never had any issues with orders arriving damaged). Shipping Shipping: $5 for 1-3 books (USPS First Class); $8 for 4-8 books (USPS Priority). Free shipping on any orders over $100 USD. Smaller orders (1-10 books) will be shipped in a Gemini mailer; larger orders (11+) will be shipped in appropriate packaging with travel-safe materials (bubble wrap and/or packing paper, spacers, etc.). US shipping only at this time; no international shipping.
  17. Hi all - the subheader for this forum included selling, so I hope this is okay to ask here... I'll be selling at a local comic con next month for the first time, and I'm a bit nervous. I've been selling successfully on eBay and other online sites for a little over a year, but it's rather easy to do there - take good pictures, provide a good description, toss it up for the going price and hope it sells (and I've had good success with sales). In-person sales feel like (and I could be completely wrong) an entirely different ball game. I guess I'm mostly curious about a few things: 50-cent bins vs. $1 bins - have them both? Or just price everything that I would include in those brackets as one or the other? Is it common courtesy to bag and/or board these, too? I feel at the very least they should be bagged, especially if they are $1, but boarding them can run into both a space issue and a cost-effective issue. Full runs/mini-series - best to sell those complete? I've seen others have them for sale, but never really tell if they do well or not. I'm mostly referring to mini-series (which are popular these days for eventual TPB format), but I know there are some like me who prefer floppies. Key issues - I read a comment elsewhere about keeping these displayed, both to draw people in and also to always have an eye on them, as if they are in boxes with other books people can easily slip them in bags, etc. I won't be dealing with any insanely expensive books this first go around (I mostly deal with modern stuff), but I certainly don't want anyone running off with some of my more valuable ones. Pricing in general... I'm a newfangled Millenial/GenZ'er, and firmly believe Overstreet is outdated the minute it's printed in paper (you wouldn't trade stocks based on an infrequently printed book, would you?), so my go-to is eBay sold prices, and not necessarily the highest - more of an average, and usually a little discounted at that. Or do you let them haggle the discount if they want, and just keep your mouth shut and price accordingly otherwise? These are probably dumb questions, but any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially from those who have been through the process.
  18. Haha. There's a gaming/electronics store near me that takes trade-ins, including comic books. They obviously have no interest in the comics other than re-selling them (I've head them offer $20 for like two long boxes worth of comics to someone trading in before), they put them all out for $1 and always have a buy-one-get-one-free thing going on. Every now and then there will be issues that are marked up - like $10 for Cable #1 or $15/$25 for some random comic just because it's old.
  19. Most recent finds, all 50 cents each ($1 bin, all buy-one-get-one free).
  20. 1. The vast majority of the time, Cover A is the cover to have since it is the one people usually want for "complete" runs. 2. Anything with a high price tag on it and associated with Whatnot only has that price tag because of the drivel on that app that hype things up solely for the purpose of moving inventory. Personally, I'd stay away from them.
  21. I'm going to assume your talking about the current on-going Magic series, from Boom Studios, by McKay... 1.) Investment, probably not. 2.) They are not canon themselves, but they draw on the canon of the cards - the comic story makes sense if you know the general story going on the card game, but it is not official. The comics also keep up-to-date as much as they can, with Strixhaven being the most recent set in the story (if I recall correctly, I've kind of fallen off playing the game).
  22. Marvel has been all over the place lately with paper/print quality.
  23. That's my stance, too, regarding advertisements (and previews, also, which are just glorified advertisements).
  24. Technically, yes. Splashy full-page panel with him declaring, "I am Doomsday!" that people like, no.
  25. An appearance is a binary event - it happens, or it does not. This distinction between cameo and first full appearance is pedantic.
