  1. Nice looking book. I think a press will help the front right edge, not much you can do for that crunch but a press should help those vertical lines on the back. I am going with solid 9.2/ 9.4 after a good press.
  2. This is solid example of a book that a clean and press would maybe bump to 9.4 from a current 8.5. The back should clean up real nice. The press may not completely fix that front issue but should improve it a great deal.
  3. I do. If you look at the back cover spine area you can see a light vertical line running the length of the book. It’s very light so the picture doesn’t pick it up well but to me it says that something not very thick was placed there as well.
  4. Just the interior cover is the only area affected. I have seen this to a lesser degree when a backer board is placed on the inside cover to heat and press. I won’t press this as I don’t want to mess with the book.I had it at a 9.2-9.4 as well with a drop to maybe 9.0-8.5.
  5. Any help would be appreciated. The main issue is the interior cover with color loss. Thanks for any input.
  6. Thanks everyone. I appreciate the feedback. I am usually pretty good with grading moderns in 9.2-9.8 range but always wonder about grading when there is a noticeable defect that falls outside the standard crease/corner wear/ spine tick etc. I will post another book that looks great but the interior cover has color loss.
  7. Thanks for any help! The inside is clean. The biggest issue being the scrape circled on last pic.
  8. Hi everyone! Here are a few pics from different angles. I have this at a 9.0 without the crease and have a few books to send in grading and not sure if I should sent it in- the back is clean with no issues. How much of a knock down for the crease? Thanks in advance.
  9. Hi everyone! Nice to join the board and have spent hours combing through different threads. Migrated over to comics a few years ago after collecting prewar baseball cards for decades. The love (and expense) of collecting both has been with me since I was a young lad. My taste has always been for the “dusty stuff” as the kids say. Mostly GA and SA for me with eye appeal being important but not picky with grade. Thanks everyone for some interesting threads and helpful info.
