  1. Hold on. Give him a minute. He's unlacing his boots and pulling the socks off now so he can count. Be a little sensitive.
  2. He already backed out of the deal, what's another week going to do? Give him another week to think up an excuse? "Please, give me one more week and I promise to add another week to the discussion. Please?!"
  3. Probation lasts until the person or people who put the person on probation agree to end it. This usually means either a deal which did not go through finally went through, a compromise acceptable to the probationer has been reached, a good reason for why the deal had to fall through was given, or the probationer realizes they made a mistake. So potentially probation can last as long as the boards themselves last, as long as the very Earth that houses these boards lasts, as long as the very galaxy that houses that Earth lasts, as long as the ... So a light toasting is not in order? Come on - a little singe here and there. Promise, it won't hurt. The tribe is ready for this big event.
  4. Look, if the person had been up-front and asked if you were okay with time payments, worked out the details of length-of-time, and then at least provided a down payment as an act of good faith, we wouldn't be having this chat. What this potential buyer did was lead you on for weeks when you could have sold this book already. That is not right, and any normal person would not want to be treated that way. Burn the witch!
  5. Should be used only when you mean it. Or this Not that I meant it towards you David.
  6. Thanks to dwip99 for a super transaction, and making sure everything went smoothly for total satisfaction. I appreciate that Danny!
  7. As usual, much thanks to MCMiles for a fabulous transcation and providing a CGC 9.8 copy of a book I've wanted for some time now. Mike, you set the bar high for yourself in being an outstanding seller, and exceed that standard ever time. Thanks!
  8. Greggy, I am so sorry CGC allowed you to waste good money on having these ratty books encased. If you like, to ease your pain, PM me and I'll take some of these off your hands out of the goodness of my heart. Especially the Captain America/Deathlok issues.
  9. Top man!!! -slym Since nobody knew who the seller was until now, I'll second the statement "Top Man" as once we worked out the slight miscommunication, Danny stepped right up and offered to take the book back. That's a solid seller to me. Thanks Danny. Book is ready for shipment for tomorrow morning.
  10. Thank you so much to Dover for a fantastic grouping of 9.8 books and some raws that were packed amazingly safe and quickly mailed. Appreciate filling the gaps in my collection dealing with you Michael!
  11. Thanks for the advice on the bags, as Brian (bghkoyama) to show me these recently, and I LOVED the look. Now I know where to buy them. PM sent to Nik, DrWatson, and Resurrection with the details. I'd like your expert opinion if you would call that a straight book and tell someone this when asked. Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way. Fine, even tho i was the first to defend you, dont pm me. You're right. I'll share, but the seller saw the photos and now totally agreed the book is cut odd and said to send it back with shipping covered. Solid results!

  13. Sorry guys, didn't come back to this thread until now. Let me get some groceries for cooking today and when I get back I'll post the original photo the seller had where he said it was "The book is straight but for some reason the scan came out all crazy looking" and then a straight-on what the book really looks like. Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Where's Roy when we need him to do a dance as part of intermission?
  14. I guess the bags being removed were extra sauce on this rotten taco that left a bad taste overall.
  15. I have to agree with this statement. CGC is not losing any money here like an eBay would, so why boycott? All it does is cuts down on the volume of activity on their servers - that's it. The same folks boycotting are most probably still engaging in the Comics General thread, so no loss of discussion activity.
  16. Quick question about the buyer experience on here with graded books. Someone had listed two CGC 9.6 books, and one of the books had what appeared to be a very odd slant to the top of the book. Before making an offer on both books, I sent a PM asking about this. The response I received from the seller was "The book is straight but for some reason the scan came out all crazy looking." He appeared to be a long-term seller that I've never noted a complaint about, so I took him at face-value. After agreeing on an amount and paying within 10 minutes so as never to be a holdup, the books get shipped. That is my normal practice with anyone on here unless there is a very special circumstance. The package arrives superbly protected, but upon removing the book I had a concern with there is definitely a very slanted cut to the book from the manufacturer that I was told "The book is straight." Then, being new CGC cases, the seller keeps the CGC bags rather than send them with the books. Asking the seller what happened to the bags, his response is "Yeah the bags got miss placed sorry about that." Am I wrong to be disappointed in this transaction where someone is not being up-front when asked about the cut of a book and then nickel-and-diming a quick-paying buyer by keeping the scratch-protectant bags? I never do this to buyers, so I wanted to feel this out what the consensus is here.
  17. The page quality of "Cream" and that cover just should not go together.
  18. Another super transaction with skinny_white_boy with wonderful books, amazingly safe packing, and quick shipping. Josh, you make every transaction wonderful due to your level of care. Thank you! If only you would stop posting "CGC it!" next to your raw listings.
  19. :o and Right on! I always worshipped the Zeck Cap covers with Deathlok. Some of this best work next to the Punisher mini series covers.
  20. Home Depot carries the 5-shelf heavy duty units for $39-$49 when they are having sales, and the wheels are extra.
