  1. Me too! I tell John all the time I never noticed how many covers have playing cards on them until he finds them and posts here. Fantastic books!
  2. Ever make it to your storage unit? No. It's okay. At least you know of one sale that would be guaranteed.
  3. Thank you so much to SlinginWeb not only for contributing a wonderful Sandman 19 CGC SS 9.8 to help a fellow board member, but also for allowing me the super experience of winning this auction item. A fantastic book (love that purple signature by Charles Vess), super-safe packing, and rapid-fire shipping. Glenn, thanks for a wonderful experience!
  4. Thank you so much to scottish not only for contributing a wonderful Savage Sword 5 CGC 9.2 to help out a fellow board member, but also for allowing me the super experience of winning this book. A fantastic book, super-safe packing, rapid-fire shipping, and even a free Dark Horse Conan. Dave, you are a hero, and a total pleasure to deal with!
  5. I cannot tell how nice that WWBN 32 is, Charlie. Please mail it to me so I can "examine" it.
  6. Direct Market Edition, before they started using the Spidey White and Black face images.
  7. As long as this helps, that's all that matters James.
  8. Gene Simmons ran away after shaking your hand? What did you say to him?
  9. Multiple CGC 9.8s with WP from 1955 - WOW! But that is a racey (racist) story nowadays.
  10. Looks solid to me. Especially including large front AND back scans so there are little to surprises. What has you worried?
  11. Those are great books. Don't ever think you have to apologize for them because you see all these 9.6/9.8s pouring out from other collectors. Everyone has to start somewhere. You did great picking these up!
  12. I'll fill out the rules of the thread once I get done with a business meeting. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3500345#Post3500345
  13. Excellent! Let's get a couple more responses of where it is best to hold this, and I'm there.
  14. I just read the Comics General thread about James/ComicGrinder. It really hit me hard hearing of not only the job situation, but to have a family unravel like that. Poor Grinder I'm willing to put this book up for auction if this would help out, signed by Tim Vigil. Is it okay to start a thread where you treat it like an auction versus straight sale?
  15. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y193/Dave0126/Boards/_anim_batmanTV.gif Love the signature line. Too funny on the old Batman show gif. By the way, driving home tonight from work, I heard a Lending Tree commercial where Adam West does the voice of an announcer talking about a superhero that fights off bad lenders. To this day, that voice stands out.
  16. Still look to have some scuff marks. You better send them to me so I can take a closer look.
  17. Jimmers! Hey both of you... Must be a trick here. Forumites being nice to each other.
  18. Good catch. Frank Darabont is a huge GOON fan. I've talked to him about it at SDCC (where he's bought original art from Powell). GOON also shows up in SUPERBAD. Check out the scenes in Michael Cera's room...there are a couple of posters in the background on the walls. The wiki site about The Goon mentions both these movie scenes. Someone posted it quite a while ago.
  19. Yea, I know.. I love most these guys, but it does get rather whiny here once in awhile.. Yes, we notice.
  20. Nice looking books, Gav. This series any good, as I never heard of it before?
