  1. Nice looking books, Gav. This series any good, as I never heard of it before?
  2. You mean like when you told me I must be doing pilates when I assumed his question appeared innocent? Going back to my exercise class today. We got a new pilates machine to really stretch the limbs. We call it "The Presser."
  3. That's what I thought was going on when I went back to read the thread the first time - an honest question that was misread. And now it is clear why he asked the second time. He assumed there was some joke going on that he was not part of. Glad this worked out, though the pressing discussion seems to always bring strong differences of opinion for many.
  4. Okay, I'm being too much of a soft heart on this one. I just went back and caught the second comment. Now it does come across like picking a fight over pressing. It would appear the beatdown may be deserved on the part of the person asking the question.
  5. Sean, I'm not against pressing, and I applaud Tupenny for posting ahead of time books were pressed. I think what happened in that thread, possibly, was an innocent question may have been misread. The way I took Pep's question, if I may frame it based on perception, was, "Hi. I think it is great you mention a book was pressed. What do you look for when trying to detect pressing?" Just the way he asked it, it may have come across like a challenge. At least, I hope that was what happened versus beating up on a thread when a seller is trying to be up front about book prep work. Then that would be totally wrong! But knowing how the pressing debate can get heated, I probably would have asked that question via a PM. I'm still leaning towards it was such an innocent question, Pep didn't realize how it came across.
  6. Thanks so much to FT88 for some fantastic raw Batman books, super-safe packing, and outstanding customer care. Much appreciated Ed in making our first transaction so positive.
  7. What, no 10.0s? Get those books out of here.
  8. One of my first purchases on the board last year - CGC 9.6 x 2 of this wonderful book. So undervalued right now.
  9. John, I never realized so many comic covers have card-based themes until I've witnessed your collection. Wow!
  10. Thanks so much to MCMiles for tracking down one of my favorite Copper Age books in wonderful 9.8 condition, then shipping in his typical smash-proof fashion for safe delivery. Mike, you are one of the best to deal with always!
  11. Thank you so much to lizards2 for two copies of an amazing Copper Age book I always appreciated. And now I know when Mike states a book's back cover is so white it will burn your eyes, take his word for it. He knows how to grade, along with packing securely for safe delivery. A fantastic experience overall!
  12. From one of my favorite sellers on the board, who tracked down a dream Copper Age book I have always wanted in high grade.
  13. Thank you so much to jonjesper for some fantastic slabbed books, and tornado-proof packing. JJ, it is always a pleasure dealing with you!
  14. Better yet, Put his current name first and then his previous board names. His current board name is the name that may attempt to buy or sell and is of concern. It's already listed that way. That was quick. Weeeee. The power of Dave. Even he is amazed sometimes.
  15. Thank you to Evil Uncle for some fabulous books that were packaged and shipped so professionally, I'd purchase from him again and again. Much appreciated!
  16. A little reholder love from CGC after some rough postal handling.
  17. Dream customer. I can't believe you didn't adopt him let alone get his name. He fell over in shock - give the man a little break as he had to be revived with smelling salt.
