  1. Grades are due by Friday November 4th 8:00 PM Eastern Time Good luck! The reveal of the actual CGC grades will be posted shortly after the round is closed, with scans of the books in their CGC holders. The scoring results thread most likely won't be available until the following day. The next round will most likely be posted within 1 hour after the previous round has ended. Click on the image to supersize it. Because the contest involves only scans, books were chosen with defects present only on the covers; there are no significant defects to the interior pages or interior cover, such as tape, missing parts or brittle pages. No restoration is present either. All defects relevant to the grade should be visible in the scans. If there is a defect that is not visible, we will try to provide a graders note. Please copy this list of books and paste it into our PM, then post your grades on the same line. Exciting Comics #32 Brave and the Bold #28 Captain Marvel #1 Lois Lane #113 New Mutants #98
  2. Here are the rules. Please read them carefully. There will be 4 rounds with 5 books per round. After the deadline for the signup thread has ended, I will start a new thread in the hey buddy can you spare a grade section, scans of the first 5 books will be posted, and I will start a PM thread between myself and each participant. Be sure to use THIS PM thread to submit your grades every round. I will post a list for the books in the thread where the books are posted for each round. Please copy and paste that list into our PM, and add the grades for each book. Only CGC grades (numerical) will be accepted. Non CGC grades like fine+ or Very fine- will not be accepted. Be sure to follow the threads that the books are posted in. This is the only way you will know when the next round starts. There will be no update when the next round begins sent to our PM thread. All of the threads with the books and the results will be posted in the hey buddy can you spare a grade section. You will have 4 days to get your grades in. After I record your grades, I will reply to the PM thread so you know that your grades have been recorded. Only grades from .5 to 9.8 will be accepted. Grades of 9.9 and 10.0 that are received, will be recorded as a 9.8 Please do not bump the PM for any reason other than submitting your grades. Nobody will be allowed to change their grades. Do not discuss your grades with others in the thread until the round is closed. Also, please do not ask any questions about the books publicly or privately (by sending me a PM) . If I am provided any special notes from CGC, I will share them in the thread. If anyone fails to submit their grades for a round, or do not submit grades for all of the books in a round, their participation in the contest will be terminated. You will be able to participate in the next contest. After the 4 days are up and the round is closed, I will post scans of the books in CGC holders to reveal their grades, and include the graders notes for the books. A new thread will be started to show the results of each participant. The results thread will most likely be started the next day. There will be a new thread started for the next round. This thread will most likely be started within an hour after the prior round has ended. 0 points is the best score one can achieve. 1 point will be added to your score for each grade that is higher or lower than the actual grade. 3. Posted on 10/26/2022 CGC Trading Cards will also be certifying Fortnite collectible cards. CGC Trading Cards® is excited to announce the expansion of its expert authentication, grading and encapsulation services to include cards from even more of the most popular and upcoming trading card games and sets. The company currently grades over 20 different sets, and it's now adding three more to the roster. Here are the latest additions to the list. New Games Accepted by CGC Trading Cards Pokémon Topsun Click images to enlarge. Before Media Factory released the Pokémon Trading Card Game in 1997, Japanese media and publishing company Top-Seika released Pokémon Topsun — a special set of promotional Pokémon cards that were included in packs of apple-flavored bubble gum. Several print runs of cards were distributed from 1995 to 1997. A complete set included 150 cards, with each card featuring one of the original 150 Pokémon excluding Mew. The first set distributed in 1995 featured a blue backing, while later sets had a green backing. Starting in the second print run, Top-Seika released 16 prism holofoil variants of fan-favorite cards, including a prism holofoil version of #006 Charizard. This card is considered the first appearance of Charizard as a collectible trading card and is the most valuable Topsun card. Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel Click images to enlarge. This simplified version of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Game, released exclusively in Japan and Korea, was released to appeal to younger audiences. The modified ruleset introduces new mechanics, including unlimited normal summons and sets, unlimited cards allowed in a player’s hand at a time, and a field layout similar to Speed Duels among other variations. As of September 2022, Konami has released 15 sets of modified Rush Duel cards and nine pre-built decks, with sets featuring popular cards such as Prima Guitarna the Shining Superstar and modified cards from the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG, including Dark Magician Girl. Fortnite Click images to enlarge. Fortnite is one of the largest eSport games in the world, with millions of daily users and a massive worldwide following. In 2019, Epic Games partnered with Italian media company Panini Group to produce the first series of Fortnite trading cards, which had 300 collectible cards featuring characters, items, and scenes from the game. Optichrome holofoil versions of cards were released beginning with the second series’ release. With Series 3’s release in March 2022, there are a total of 882 Fortnite trading cards to collect. Popular chase cards include Black Knight from Series 1 and Clover Team Leader from Series 3.
  4. All of the PM's have been sent. If you signed up and didn't get one, let me know. See you all Thursday!
  5. I will be sending out the PM's over the next 2 days, and round 1 will start Thursday 8:00 PM eastern time. The PM will contain a link to round 1, which will not be visible to you until the start of the contest.
  6. If someone confronts the problem on their own with posts that are not acceptable, they are contributing to it. The best way is to use the report feature. Otherwise, I will be forced to issue warnings on both sides. By the time a problem is reported, more often that not, I find this to be the case. Do I issue a bunch of warnings, ban a bunch of people from the topic or lock it? I'm not looking for an answer. I am just sharing the task I am up against. I believe everyone here is an adult, and should be able to participate in a civil conversation about a movie.
  7. I'm opening this thread back up. Everyone has their own opinions. If you disagree with them to the point of name calling or other comments that violate the terms of use, you will be banned from the topic, restricted from posting on the forum or both. Sometimes, it is just better to just walk away...
  8. This is what I was told: We are currently working on this. I can’t give a date, but we are going to have it ready soon.
  9. This thread is locked. Do not start another one.
  10. So far, 92 people have signed up. The deadline to do so is Tuesday 8:00 PM eastern time, and round 1 will start Thursday 8:00 PM eastern time.
  11. Just a heads up. It appears that I need to keep an eye on this thread. I trust everyone will be on their best behavior going forward. (that's a period at the end, not a question mark)
