  1. At what point did Diamond start billing dealers for incentive copies ? Back in

the stone ages, if we ordered X, then the distributor would put an incentive

copy or two in with the regular preorder. Now the dealer actually has to pay

for the "incentive " ? I'm going to assume the world has changed since then.

From what I was told, yes, they pay their price for the incentive copy.

Unless you're suggesting that, in addition to distributing them in the ratio based on retailer order, Marvel is also making some large quantity available to the public through some alternate means, then yes, it does indeed give a ballpark of the max number of copies available. It could end up being half that number, but we're establishing a ceiling for available copies.

Again, from what I understand, if an incentive variant does not sell to how many they printed, these are made available a few months later through Diamond and you can just order them like a regular comic. They are not going to just let printed material go to waste when they could sell them. Sometimes they give them to people on the creative team as well.

Certainly creators get comp copies. As for ordering them, I wasn't aware that was possible. What does Diamond charge if you order just the incentive?

You can't order only the incentive when it's first released. You do have to order 50 or whatever, then your 51st copy is the incentive and you pay cover for that. That's why retailers like them because they can get pretty close to even if the incentive sells then the regular covers are gravy.

Believe me, there are next to no 1:50 incentive variants selling for the cost of 50 regulars

  2. Don't be so quick to judge! those three extra copies could have been his bank account in overdraft.

thats when you make the "hard" judgement call to get 3 less copies of Convergence...

I agree with both of these comments. (thumbs u

He probably wouldn't be paying for them until this week or maybe in a month,

if the guys pre ordered the 1:50 for $25 it's a bit of a bad move not ordering 3 more

  3. Uncanny X-Men #600 - 3 different AF Variants

    Secret Wars #4,5,6

Do we know who the figures will be for these?

The usual, order as many as you like if you order more than a previous comic.

For example: To qualify for Secret Wars #5 & #6 Action Figure Variant you have to exceed

your order for Thor #1 by 125%.

So if you ordered 10 copies of Thor #1 you need to order 13 copies of

Secret Wars #5 to get as many of the variants as you want

  4. So for Marvel action figure covers so far, I got:

    Secret Wars #1 - Black Spider-Man

    Secret Wars #2 - Wolverine

Secret Wars #3 - Doctor Octopus

Secret Wars: Battleworld #1 - Black Panther

Secret Wars: Journal #1 - Mr. Fantastic

    Star-Lord & Kitty Pryde #1 - Star-Lord

    Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #1 - Spider-Man

    E is for Extinction #1 - Cyclops

Captain Marvel & The Carol Corps #1 - Captain Marvel

    Thors #1 - Thor

    Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars #1 - Deadpool

I think that is about all that has been announced so far…feel free to add if you happen to find more.

    Uncanny X-Men #600 - 3 different AF Variants

    Star Lord & Kitty Pride #2 - 1 in 25 AF Variant

    Secret Wars #4,5,6

    Star Wars: Lando #1

  5. So everyone got their Boba Fetts now? Good!

    Next topic…

Does anyone have a list as to who or which comics will be getting the Secret Wars Action Figure cover?

We know Secret Wars #1 is Black Costume Spider-Man and that Secret Wars #2 is Wolverine. I believe Secret Wars #3 is Deadpool.

I know Black Panther, regular Spider-Man, female Thor are coming too.

Are these only going to be in the Secret Wars title or will they be in other offshoot titles? Like Darth Vader was for his own title.

Captain Marvel & The Carol Corps #1 has 1, presumably Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel & The Carol Corps #2 has 1 but oh dear, it's a 1 in 25 variant.

First time they've done this ratio I think

  6. order had to be exceed 200% of orders for Original Sin #8 (If I remember correctly)

with the regular Star Wars #4 and then order all you like of the AF variant.

So for some shops it's a 1:1, some shops wouldn't have ordered.

Same for the #5 variant which wasn't in previews

Do you know if the #4 was featured in an Order Update from Diamond? Just curious because in the actual retailer order form when #4 was solicited there was no mention of an action figure #4 variant. Yeah, the way retailers have to order some Marvel variants is rather confusing, a certain percentage of something previously ordered, the stores I have talked to hate it that way, I can only imagine how many others do as well.

It was an order update as was issue #5.

    #6 is in previews

  7. order had to be exceed 200% of orders for Original Sin #8 (If I remember correctly)

  8. From John

    Email 1

"I'm about to board a flight, which seems to be at a bad time considering the book is about to sell out. I had NO IDEA it would sell this fast, and it's because of people like you, who have been so cool and patient that I want to make sure I take care of you!

Since I haven't had a chance to respond to your email, I've set aside some books to make sure those of you who emailed me before the sell out get your copies!"

    Email 2

    "Matt

Unfortunately we are not offering any discounts. Although the book sold out, I've held some aside for the people I hadn't got to"

  9. Looks like larry is still butthurt for getting banned from cbsi, at least thats how you come across at times.

The market has spoken, they love the current end game arc. Issue 35 starts end game and is also a new origin of the Joker, look at suicide squad 6/7 new harley origin, those two are still selling over cover. Bats 35 will sell too, the thing i dont understand ia why the 1 in 25 or la mole covers havent picked up heat. Bats 35 combo is selling for a reason, if the print run was huge as larry claims it is, it wouldnt be selling for over $10. How many have you guys found out in the wild, curious.

batman annual 1, mr freeze origin also sells for over cover, green arrow 0 also sells over cover, see the trend? People like origin issues.

The NYC con variant and la mole covers haven't picked up heat because they aren't being pushed online as having low print runs.

The regular issue of Batman 35 sells for 10 to 15 bucks. To assert that the combopack wouldn't sell for more than 10 dollars if it had a high print run is absurd, because while it has nowhere near the print run that e-hucksters claim, it still is significantly lower than the regular first print cover, which means it would sell for more than the first print, especially if, as you claim, people are purchasing the book because they actually care about what is happening within the pages.

But look at the single digit Batman issues with combo pack variants. Most of the single issue Batman regular covers sell for at least 10 or 15, but their combo-packs don't sell regularly at 40 dollars or more, nor do they sell anywhere near as often as Batman 35 has done in just one week. Hell most of those early Batman combo packs have only one or two listings on eBay at any given time.

Arcane has sold 60 plus copies of the Batman 35 combo just through eBay since the end of January. That doesn't account for their in store sales or the sales through their own website. Knowng that you still want to defend the idea that the print run of the 35 combo-pack is in the hundreds? Nonsense.

Not defedning the print run for bats 35, i have mo idea what it is for the combo, i am however behind the idea that the reason it sells is because of jokers origin, which has never really been told before, to my knowledge, and also because it starts end game. I dont know about the rest of you, but this joker origin is insane, if it does stay cannon this book will surely appreciate over time. It gaved me chills reading all those, 35 to 39, batman issues, specially jokers "origin"

That doesn't make sense, the combo pack is sealed so to open it to read it is knocking the value down. So there's no point buying the combo pack at an inflated rate to read

  10. If I had to rank in order of importance:

    1. Captain Marvel #17 2nd Print

    2. All-New Marvel Now! Point One #1

    3-TIE. Captain Marvel #14 / Captain Marvel #17

So her 1st appearance is a reprint, her 2nd appearance is her 1st appearance and her (tied)

3rd appearance is 2 cameos that appeared before both of those?

    :ohnoez:

  11.

Not sure the films going to go down too well. Apparently you have to go back 3 months later

and pay $3 extra to see the last 20 minutes

  12. Then every pregnancy will be deemed first appearance and that isn't going to happen. This is just follow the leader type spec and I agree with Authority they are drumming up old wizard mag picks to clear out their inventories. lol

Who said anything about Wolverine 80 being a first?

God help us all if the Diamond/Marvel Previews issue for Wolverine #80 had the panel with the test tube in
