None of those books are as rare to get in 9.8 as the UF#4 variant.  

I wouldn’t compare any of those 1st appearances to UF#4 Variant 9.8… 
 

 

 The debate between two great books and which is better… 

Yes, ASM 667 is rare and there aren’t enough for the ASM collectors who want it.  
 

Ultimate Fallout #4 variant at 9.8 isn’t going away either.  1st appearance of a popular character, regular cover doesn’t have him on the cover in costume.  A 1:25 book with a black cover.  It may dip for awhile, but it’s a tough book to get in 9.8.  Miles isn’t going anywhere.   He’s all upside in the MCU.  
 

It will be interesting to read these posts again in 5 years. 😂

Black Widow solo movie will probably answer what happened in "Budapest" since her and Hawkeye mention it all the time.  

Old Cap was perfect.  "House of M" ending.  Also, they never said when he goes back to her, so could be after all Peggy's important events in the timeline.  Also, when he visits her in Avengers there are pictures of her kids, but NO pictures of her "husband."  

Cap with Mjolnir was epic, and makes the scene in Avengers 2 even better.  Cap knew he could lift the hammer when it moved, but didn't pick it up since he didn't need to show off or embarrass Thor.  

 

 

I'm always curious when I see mistakes on #21.  Can't help wondering if this time it's going to be the mysterious unknown 2nd print.

Here are some pictures of mine that may help. I have a 1st print and counterfeit.

Here they are on top of each other. Notice the "Volume One" logo is higher on the counterfeit and at the same time "Linsner" is lower at the bottom.

 

 

Also, the counterfeit is printed darker inside the book. Here are some examples:

 

The cross-hatching looks like those are counterfeit.

50AE_DE is right. The counterfeits were enlarged images of the original (which caused the cross-hatching).

 

The "Cry for Dawn" logo is higher up on the counterfeit, closer to the top edge due to being enlarged. And the center blood trail on the bottom is another good place to compare as well. Seeing it on the top and bottom of the book shows it wasn't simply cut wrong off the printer, but actually an enlarged image. You can see it in the examples above too.

 

Another tell is to look inside the book. Pages are printed darker.

 

Hard to tell from scans Manetteska, but yours are showing signs of being counterfeit...

I was surprised too! When I saw it, I just thought

 

Whoever did the actual stabbing may have genuinely thought it was the actual cover. With the amount of detail and color it wouldn't surprise me if that's what happened.

 

Got a new TMNT sketch cover at Baltimore Comic Con this past weekend.

 

The sketch cover was done by an artist named Hector Rodriguez. (It's the back cover to the variant TMNT #22 with the Hulk #340 homage.)

 

Kevin Eastman was the guest of honor at the show, and signed & remarked the top.

 

Thought I posted this before but apparently not. Had this for a while.

Well, it was a long time in coming, but I finally got it slabbed:

 

 

My beauty, that I bought off of eBay in 1999, for $66 shipped. It was an auction, of course (they all were back then), and my high bid was $125...and I won it for $61, plus $5 shipping.

 

Pretty amazing.

 

Paid for it by check, too.

 

I still think it's a 9.2, but it does have some light foxing in the logo that the graders call "fingerprints" (not the case), so a 9.0 isn't too bad.

 

It's a beauty of a copy, I'll say.

The last two are my favorite things I've found at a con. My first ever con was Awesome Con 2014 and I found those and bought them about ten minutes into the show, before I had even had a chance to take in the whole show. Then a year later at Awesome Con 2015, Kevin Eastman as well as all four turtles were present, so I was able to get them all to sign them.
