  1. It was stored in a bag too big, which probably didn't help.
  2. After watching Hardcore Pawn, I'm afraid of Detroit
  3. Worst part is I have all those copies and I still haven't read it!
  4. I will probably be selling some in the next few weeks but my goal is the 9.8's for submitting. So it won't be those.
  5. I am pretty harsh on grading but lets say the tears are under 1/2" and are considered acceptable under CGC standards. At least two have bad tears 2@9.0-9.4 6@9.4-9.6 and 2 9.8 candidates. The lower grades ones might improve with pressing.
  6. Gonna break out the tape measure. Have 10 RRP's to re evaluate!
  7. If you are talking about the spine, those are bindery tears and are on all copies so will not or should not affect grades I dunno. They have been pretty bad. 1/2" tears on average. Those don't determine grade at all? Eye sores, thats for sure.
  8. Careful with scans on this one. Biggest problem I have seen is corner tears, mostly starting on the back. Get a spine shot!
  9. So now that's done, is the print run on the detroit going to be 500 or 1000?
  10. Good deal on the Detroit variant if you haven't pre-ordered.... ebay
  11. I'd pay $20 but that's me The RRP will be the most valuable if the series takes off. I've had 10 in my hands so far and the book is too big for the stock used. 9.6 is the highest I've seen.
  12. Totally agree with the lawsuit (thumbs u
  13. All the advertisements from Image I saw said 'limited to 500'. it didn't mention print run is 500 anywhere. Unless you saw something different from me. limited to 500 could mean 500 sold at nycc or 500 printed. everyone assumed printed. As a customer, wouldn't you think of that as them insulting your intelligence?
  14. I really have no dog in the fight as I didn't buy any. Facts are though, Image advertised 500 print run. NOT 500 available at the convention. I agree its kind of silly to bring up a lawsuit as well. Using stock isn't a very good analogy. A reasonable person would assume when a print run is announced, its not subject to be changed last second. Unlike stock which a reasonable person knows is much more variable.
  15. What about the people on the board who bought them for $40 bucks a pop and when it takes a nose dive, their investment will be gone?
  16. I would be upset as well but I held off on these because there was a question before Thursday, what the print run actually was. Its bad form and bad buisness to advertise one thing then change it without an official announcement. On top of that, they bumped the price of the book mid con. Shady.
