    I did. After playing with it for awhile, I got it to work sometimes but it never fully scanned(started and froze halfway through). Think it is just a faulty unit.

    My sig? Newton Rings don't show much in scans but you're right in that they are not in all their books. I would even say a minority. If they can make most books newton ring free, they can do it with all. It's a matter of QC at this point.

    These are all PC books, so I want them to look reasonably presentable. Some books in there are re-tries. Sent back as soon as received because they seemingly didn't do anything to improve it. Just waiting for the email, "Sorry sir but NR's are normal and you're impossible to please. Buh-bya."

    I don't think that's correct. I believe these are being made based on how many selected the foils and typically, they print extras to cover damage. Also, you can still order them, it appears here.

    A friend of mine just had a modern book rejected for grading, with notes, "fused interior pages". I know what siamese pages are but anyone have a clue what fused would be?
