  1. We already know what you pound, and it aint sand..
  2. I have certainly been involved in worse here. Believe me, this is not exactly a distinguished group of business professionals, there are plenty of cry babies. But it never hurts to try and improve the atmosphere.
  3. Stop making assumptions. Just because people don't agree with you doesn't mean they are heavily vested in the other companies. Seriously man, not everything is black and white.
  4. We are comic collectors. Many of us prefer CGC, but we collect comics not plastic. So there will always be discussion regardless of brand, because it involves what we collect.
  5. Because of the obvious temper tantrum by the moderation, same as when I posted pictures of wavy slabs. They removed those until I proved they were mine. Moderation isn't always right, except politics and trolling, they usually catch those quick.
  6. Where do these guys come from? Since when are we only allowed to talk about topics approved by members.
  7. Is this the CGC or Jaydogrules chat boards? I'm confused?
  8. Agreed, and I have busted Steves stones into pebbles and have criticized him any time I felt like doing so. But he has done many great things for this hobby and certainly deserves the respect he has earned.
  9. The sheer amount of brass bowling balls you are carrying around is astounding. You need to think about the people you run around spouting off assumptions about. @namisgr is one member whos reputation around here is top notch. We all believe in having healthy competition, it keeps the market active and the companies honest. If you feel you need to start taking jabs at people because you arent getting a whole group jumping onto your cheer team, by all means take the nonsense elsewhere.
  10. Let me assssssk you a few questions
  11. This is one of those cases where the person believes it could never happen until they get served the papers. And that has even happened from people talking here on these boards in the past if I remember correctly.
  12. "Educated Collector" no, if you were an "educated collector" you would already know that 1 company is a hack and the other is infallible. Name 1 time CGC has made a mistake, times up, you can't (because I didn't let you). But in all honesty, if the book presents as graded it sells for FMV plastic grading company aside. I have bought and sold quite a few of both, and I can honestly say that I haven't had any issues since the "new case" debacle awhile back where I had to keep sending books back, had to have books pressed to try and retain grade, etc. Both companies will continue to have ups and downs and as time goes on there will be (2) major grading companies. And I will continue to use CGC at some point in time, most likely once I feel their grading is consistent again.
  13. This statement still is not true. I have had no issue getting equal money regardless of holder. This can be for SA or modern variants, I have not had to sell for less because of a case.
  14. Well, for one the massive influx of high grade comics the past 5 years? A lot of really good collections, realizing high prices, driving out tons more collections?
  15. I was wondering that, I know there are some really hard to come by issues in this run. Skinny White Boy on the boards had a nice run he was working on for a few years.
  16. No worries, just having some conversation as the state of brand X doesn't really interest many people.
  17. I think you are taking just one portion of the conversation though. My comment was that common issues have been becoming less valuable while keys and classic covers have sky rocketed. This is hardly a sky is falling scenario, as it was more of a change in mindset of the newer collector looking at comics as almost strictly investments. And yes, guys did see the writing on the wall with their collections as they were decreasing by halves, which can be backed up just by doing a little searching through Ebay completed sales or GPA.
  18. I suppose it is. GA eventually becomes the final stop due to the scarcity and honestly some of the best art ever. GGA covers don't really have a BA to MA equivalent, Campbell, Hughes, Etc are all far more cartoony, the Pre Code horror is just fantastic and some is absolutely gruesome, I can sit and rave about GA books. But what I am seeing less of is guys completing Justice League, Avengers, Fantastic Four runs. It seems that group is fading, even CA and MA it is mostly keys only and the rest is bird cage liner.
  19. Do you not collect comics? Buy a key from something you like, if you are looking to invest money I suggest Bitcoin.
