  1. I guess I should have put "unrestored census"
  2. Yes, but it is restored. This one is a nice solid copy.
  3. I graded this particular copy a VF (8.0)
  4. Another trip to the attic. Boy Commandos #1 from December 1942. This is a low-grade affordable copy of a golden age key. Classic Simon & Kirby. I have graded it at about a Good (2.0). The cover is detached and it has some staining as well as defects commonly associated with a Good (2.0) grade. I am asking $450 USD. I have a few other GA Boy Commandos as well - photo attached. BTW, I give volume discounts - FYI. Shipping costs will be as close to the exact postal/delivery charge as possible. As an example, I recently mailed out a golden age comic (well packaged) to New York City from Hamilton, Ontario. The regular Canada Post charge was close to $10 (Cnd) and it arrived in a few days. I also have met up locally with buyers to complete transactions at no additional cost. I am also willing to travel to most parts of Southern, Eastern and near Northern Ontario to complete large transactions. My return policy is pretty basic. If you are not happy with a purchase, please notify me immediately (within 7 days of product arrival) and I will make it right either by giving a full refund or making other arrangements that works for the buyer. Payment can be made via PayPal, e-transfer, major credit card or (if dealing in person) cash. I personally grade all my comic books that are raw and I will list/explain hidden defects that are not commonly associated with a particular grade. I try to accomodate my customers the best that I can. Please contact me for any further information. moesattic@hotmail.com (905) 516-3554 Many more comic books will be posted for sale as I get used to electronic online selling. Buy with confidence from a collector/dealer with over 50 years of experience.

This issue is from 1948 and is the same as the Marvel/Timely issue but with a Sept date and different ads. The US edition currently has only 50 graded issues with the highest being a 9.0. There is no CGC Census for this particular issue (unrestored)! I am asking $4000 Cnd ($3080 USD). REMOVED FROM SALE Next from the attic is a VG-F copy of House of Mystery #1 from Dec 1951-Jan 1952. This is considered DC's 1st horror comic. This copy has a small "etching/erase mark" and a crease on the front cover as well as defects commonly associated with a VG-F comic book. I am asking $1000 Cnd ($775 USD) SOLD Next from the attic is a copy of Teen-age Temptations #1 from Oct 1952. It's about a VG copy with a small tear on the cover as well as a small corner chunk out of the back cover. It's still nice and supple and shows well. A great Matt Baker cover & art key issue. The comic also features a "Reform School Girl" story by Estrada. The comic shows wear and tear commonly associated with a VG comic. I am asking $850 Cnd ($655 USD). Ok - so the next comic on the wall that is for sale is Big Town #1 from Jan 1951. This DC crime comic is about a VG-F and it has a small tear on the front cover along with other defects commonly associated with this grade. I am asking $250 Cnd ($200 USD) On the wall you'll also find a copy of Spy Smasher #1 from the fall of 1941. A nice hero key issue from Fawcett. This solid low grade G- copy has an obvious large chunk out of the front cover and a spine roll, otherwise it is complete. It also has other defects commonly associated with this grade. This issue features a silver metalic cover. I am asking $450 Cnd ($350 USD). Here is a low grade affordable copy of Tom Mix Comics #1 from Sept 1940. This was a full size giveaway comic from the Ralston-Purina Co. I have graded this comic book a Good but it has several hidden defects. There is water damage, the centre is detached, a pencil fill-in, a few small (minor) burn holes, a split spine as well as a subscription sticker on the back cover. I have included a few more photos that show some of these defects. I am asking $325 Cnd ($250 USD). Next from the wall is this Sheena, Queen of the Jungle #1 from 1942. I have graded this an apparent VG/VG+. This comic book is complete with no major chunks missing but it has some amateur restoration that includes colour touch, tape, staples and glue. The inside covers are heavy tanning but you can flip through the comic okay as the pages are still in decent shape. I took a few extra photos so you can see the defects. I am asking $500 Cnd ($380 USD) for this golden age key issue. Here is another one from the wall - a 1947 Cheerios Premium - "#Y1 "Donald Duck's Atom Bomb" by Carl Barks. A quick look shows this to be a F-VF copy however it is only apparent because of the corner piece replaced on the cover. See photos for details. I am asking $300 Cnd but I am open to offers. REMOVED FROM SALE Looking through the attic, I found this hiding in a box for you Schomburg fans out there: Startling Comics #30 from Nov 1944 in G/VG condition. A nice Schomburg WW2 cover. This particular issue has a detached cover as well as some tears and staining. It also has a small chunk out of the cover as well as defects commonly associated with this grade. I am asking $350 Cnd ($275 USD) REMOVED FROM SALE Next is this copy of Mammoth Comics #1 from 1938. This comic book is about a VG- with a few loose centre pages. It is listed as "scarce" in Overstreet and it is an "8" in the Gerber Photo-Journal. This particular oversized comic with a black and white interior is fairly heavy duty with thick cardboard covers and it has small cracks, colour breaks and bends commonly found in these types of issues. I have included a few extra photos here. I am asking $600 Cnd ($460 USD). Here is a VG+ copy of Atom Age Combat #1 from 1952 (St. John). An average VG+ copy with no major defects. I am asking $175 Cnd ($140 USD)
  6. My apologies to the forms community as I left out some required details in my posting. Here is the updated posting: For my 1st posting I went up in the attic and brought down a nice Batman issue - #18 from Aug/Sept 1943. It is graded a CGC 3.5 (VG-) and has cream to off-white pages. This comic book features a classic Hitler, Hirohito and Mussolini cover. It features Jerry Robinson and Jack Burnley art. I am asking $1800 USD Shipping costs will be as close to the exact postal/delivery charge as possible. As an example, I recently mailed out a golden age comic (well packaged) to New York City from Hamilton, Ontario. The regular Canada Post charge was close to $10 (Cnd) and it arrived in a few days. I also have met up locally with buyers to complete transactions at no additional cost. The Attic is Open!

Welcome to Moe's Attic - your source for gold, silver and bronze age comic books. I am a convention dealer based out of Hamilton, Ontario with over 50 years of collecting/dealing experience. I buy, sell and trade often and I do not believe in having "a museum". I may not always have that Detective Comics #35, Amazing Spider-man #1 or an Incredible Hulk #181 that you may be looking for, but I may have them on occasion. Whether you are looking for some golden age Batman, silver age Spideys or bronze age key issues, there will always be a variety in the attic. I've set up at some of the largest conventions in the world including San Diego, Chicago and New York. More recently you will find me set up in Toronto at the TCBS, Pop Culture Canada events as well as the Hamilton and Niagara Falls Comic Con. As a former comic store owner, I know my books! I look forward to hearing from you: friends, customers old and new as well as fellow dealers. Please send me a message or give me a call and let me know how I can help you.
