    arent basements bad for paper because of the humidity? If it is not finished and has no AC, then most definitely yes. However, if it is finished and has central air, it should be ok. I would use a humidistat to check before storing any books there long-term. A de-humidfier could also be used to maintain the humidity. gotchas
