  4. tjanse, you're welcome! Not sure how that ToT came back a 9.8, but hey, I'm so NOT complaining...
  5. If you're looking to secure a Saga #1 CGC SS book signed by Vaughan AND Staples, look no further. The Link
  6. According to Kevin Eastman's newsletter, he's scheduled for a show in TX in march (STAPLE?), tentatively at Boston Comic Con, and then San Diego Comic Con. Didn't you hit him up at any of the 35 Days signings at Meltdown?
  7. You could update the list to include a January show in Phoenix, AZ, the Amazing Arizona Comic Con... January 6-8, 2012. (AACC) Guests: Eric eBas Basaldua Joe Benitez Mike DeBalfo Robert Kirkman Rob Liefeld Brian Pulido Peter Steigerwald Cory Walker along w/some some unlisted folks like JT Krul, Brian Buccelato, Raven Gregory, Nei Ruffino, Marat Mychaels, Richard Starkings, and others.
  8. Glad to help... You should see the Wedding Edition I got. Not only do I have the only SS copy of this book, but according to Brian Lynch, I have the only copy signed by him AND his wife Carrie!
  9. Here's a one of a kind CGC SS book: The Angel After the Fall #1 Wedding Edition variant, limited to 200 copies and mainly given to friends at writer Brian Lynch's wedding. Not only is this the ONLY CGC SS copy, according to Brian, this is the ONLY copy signed by him AND his wife Carrie Lynch! (plus, it's been signed by editor Chris Ryall)
  10. Considering Brandon Choi hasn't officially attended a comic book show in many years, I would venture a guess to say: Very very hard. I'm not even sure what shows Garner has done recently besides San Diego Comic Con. Jim Lee's lines are ridiculously long at the shows he does signings at... Campbell, however, is a wonderful and accessible creator, though he has lines at shows he attends. Thankfully, though, he's able to sign for everyone who waits for him in line usually with a generous limit, or no limit.
  11. You can add this show, the So Cal Comic Con (SCCC) on 8/27 and update the following creators: J Scott Campbell Keu Cha Marco dos Santos Joel Gomez Chris Moreno Tone Rodriguez Joe Weems I am accepting submissions (and sketch requests for everyone EXCEPT Campbell) for these creators as well. -Joel
  12. Bendis said back in March that he's taking a break from shows, and so far, he's kept his word. Between his new Marvel non-comics projects and the Powers TV show, I think it'll be a while before Bendis comes back to a comic con.
  13. Gee, ya think? Congratulations, that is an AWESOME collection of sketches! Sale, Jones, *and* Art Adams are all hard to get, and they came out beautifully. The Wagner mash-up is extremely cool, too. Good job!
  14. Right back at ya, JJ! Mr. Jespersen was great with the creators as well, always trying to inform them about CGC and how they could benefit or receive slabs of their own comics, with a natural comforting ease to make that creator feel special and not rushed. JJ is definitely an asset to our community.
  15. I could handle Amanda Conner all day long... Not sure I could handle Jimmy Palmiotti pummeling me into a bloody pulp afterwords, though... In all seriousness, though, the key is to treat the creator with respect (even if they don't treat you with respect) and courtesy. I always think of what I'd like to talk about, in advance, if that opportunity arises. If I don't say much and they want to talk, I usually say something to the effect of, "That sounds great, and I would love to discuss that further, but there is a line of 50 people behind me dying to meet you, and I don't want to hold them up." Usually, the creator understands and I can go on my way. Plus, if you give a little, you'll be amazed what you might receive down the road. This past weekend, I learned that the value of a sharpie marker can be more than a few bucks if presented in the right way. (JJ understands this one) I'm always listening and looking for ways to show my appreciation to the creator for taking the time to sign and or sketch on my books or my customer's books. Thankfully, going to shows year after year, you pick up on a few things and get to become friendlier with certain people. In the end, I'm looking to build relationships and keep the creator involved (and yes, I am not afraid to financially motivate, or motivate through bartering) in the process.
  16. no, not yet... Trying to find the right avenue or way to promote it. I will probably resort to eBay soon since the next big convention is in March 2010. Joel
  17. I saw that Batman #608 RRP getting signed... Wow, a 9.8! Congratulations, Bill! If you ever sell it, you should be able to pay off a nice stack o'bills! Joel
  18. Very nice to meet you at the show, Ben, and glad to hear you made it back in one piece. Ugh, what a drive...
  19. What looks like an i and an F, is actually the M in Michael. Most of the word Michael is there, and the big swish is the T in Turner. He had a pretty consistent signature, the boldness of the T in Turner was the one thing that varied depending on his strength level and how many sigs he was doing at the time. Joel
  20. Big Kudos to Peter Palmer for not only getting my books signed at Dragon-Con, but sending everything back incredibly packed with all the right documentation! You rock, Adam! Joel
  21. I thought about using the back cover, but that cover really isn't conducive to holding signatures. Even with silver ink on that black background. Plus, I was lucky enough that CGC got the 41 names to fit on 1 label, I really didn't want to push my luck. Joel P.S. Don't worry, Adam, this book is probably not going up for bid until early October at the earliest.
  22. Well, I've been biting my tongue on this multi-signature thread for months, since I had a project in the works. I'm happy to announce tonight that the book has been graded, and will be auctioned off for charity in the near future. I think this book safely breaks any record so far. A Tribute to Michael Turner, CGC SS 9.8 with a whopping FORTY-ONE (41) signatures! Check it out: [img
