  1. Here's my Daredevil Authentix signed by Stan Lee, Kevin Smith, Joe Quesada, and Jimmy Palmiotti, that still came out a 9.9!

By San Diego, I should have a book that will blow all of these out of the water, though, in terms of number of signatures on a CGC book. I am tempted to post the in-progress pic, but I want to surprise folks when it gets slabbed.

P.S. Here's another 3-signed: Stan Lee, Todd McFarlane, David Micheline

I'll post my Obama Spidey signed by 7 people later this week when I get it back.

  2. I have a page from Fathom #6 and a page from Fathom #12... Not much in terms of figures, mostly backgrounds but these are from his volume 1 days at the Cow... Considering that 1 collector, "fathom-man", buys up most of his Fathom art, I'm lucky to have either of these.

I had some Turner sketches over the years but sold them to customers. I had some nice ones on art boards I wish I didn't sell, but I had to keep those bills at bay, so I caved.

Maybe next week after recovering from WonderCon I can take some pics...

  3. I've always been interested in this question too, and I think the honest answer is that it depends on what Kirby signed. There are Captain America prints from 1976 that Kirby signed that don't go for that much money because there are a lot of those signed prints out there. Kirby in the later years worked on an Independent book, whose name I'm now blanking on, but when you look at the artwork, you see Kirby and his influence, and there are Kirby signed copies of those independent comic books floating around that don't sell for *that* much given that it's a Kirby signature.

Years and years ago, Wizard had a failed experiment where they tried to assign a value to everyone's signature, and Kirby's was among the top at that time, at $500, I think. This "signature price guide" lasted a total of 2 issues, if I remember correctly, and was quickly pulled and never discussed again.

I would think, for a Silver Age Marvel book, it could add hundreds (or even thousands, to the right book) of dollars in value, but it's so subjective. You find that one Kirby collector that's gotta have that signed comic, and you can set your price.

To answer your question, I think the Avengers #3 and FF #5 would see a substantial price increase from the signature (definitely get Stan to sign the FF #5) if you can wait for the right buyer. Throwing it up on eBay, probably at least a $200 to $300 bump, maybe more. Just my guess.

I only have 1 Kirby signed comic, FF #4, probably in G or G+, I got Stan Lee to sign the splash page along with Kirby, it's one of the 3 books I doubt I'd ever sell for any amount of money. Hmm, I never thought of getting Stan to sign it again and CGC SS it. Food for thought...

I'm interested to hear other people's thoughts on this topic, I think I've rambled enough. :)

  4. Actually, Michael, Jeff himself was VERY impressed with your Bone #1. (I kept my mouth SHUT and smiled, because all I saw were the spine stresses.) :) He even showed the artist signing next to him the Bone #1, saying how nice of a copy it was. I think that's why he added the little head sketch. I got him near the beginning of a signing, about the 4th or 5th person in line if I remember right, and he was a little late to get started, which is why he might have signed the rest in a rushed format.

Chris, your books are being sent out to you so you can compare the signatures. They should be similar since they were signed at the same signing. I started my stack with Michael's Bone #1 to get Jeff in a good mood, and it worked. :) I blew past the signing limit at that event and got lucky to get the amount of books I got signed.
