Would you believe a guy with a mullet saying he's a scientist, knows all about what caused it but doesnt go into specifics, and brags about his clearance level and so forth? Anyone with that high of a security clearance would not be telling anyone what and who he knows. Unless Kirkman doesnt know that about security clearances and what the character said is legit.

I know no one knows what caused all the zombies but has any of the characters ever mentioned anything about what happened? Obviously Rick was in a coma and doesnt know but havent some of the other characters mentioned anything about what happened, they would have seen news reports, or something from the govt. Maybe that was mentioned but I just dont remember reading it.

Me too, but much much later. To me that's part of what makes this series so good is that there isn't an explained reason. Adds to the tension.

Yeah, you might be right.....and actually I agree, I never want to know the actual cause either. Seems like whatever the cause ends up being, it could be a let-down.

 

Not me...I want to know the cause/where it came from/etc. Knowing it wont be a let down unless its absolutely stupid. If it were a government experiment gone wrong or something of the like or some meteor dust from outer space that contaminated the water that would be fine. But to never know what/how it all happened would leave an empty feeling in a great series, IMHO.

I think a good cause would be for some Al Qaeda types sneaking in some bio warfare plague into the US and releasing it in huge metropolitan areas.

Very interesting. But if DC is a safe haven, weird that the gang hasnt seen any planes/helo's etc all this time.

 

Just because there are survivors, doesn't mean there would be pilots that survived. Plus with as much of the population that would be killed through the "zombie plague", there would be a lot fewer laborers to keep up all of the technology.

I would say there would be enough pilots that survived that were either in secluded locations or just happened to be in the air when everything was going downhill. But of course we have to wait and see how its explained.

I just started reading this series in the past 6-8 months. I recently picked up the first two TPB and just picked up a small lot (43 - 53). I read all eleven issues plus the 2nd TPB this morning. I couldn't put them down. What a great read this series is, wish I had jumped on the band wagon a bit earlier though.

Bout time US.

The AF wanted about 220 F22's but only 187 will be built. It wont be enough for the AF to maintain air superiority in 2 theaters.

Hopefully the fools in DC wont kill the F35.
