    Hello Everyone!

I just read that PBA Galleries has a designation from CGC. From the information I have at this time, it's called the DC Universe Collection. When will this be listed along with the other Pedigrees recognized by CGC?

The DC Universe Collection - PBA Galleries

Just read the answer on the landing page. Thanks!

Here is a story to accompany this fine issue.

Sometimes I sell a few books on E-Bay. I got the notification this evening that I had a bid on my book and there were 14 hours left. Imagine my surprise when I realize I mislisted this newsie. Yes, my Spawn #5 Newsstand variant received a bid of $9.99 with 14 hours left. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the auction when I realized I forgot to mention it was the newsstand variant. I almost swallowed my chewing tobacco when I looked at the pics. I somehow forgot to list it as a newsstand variant! Fortunately for me, I was able to cancel the auction. Here are the pics.

    HEY, ON THE BRIGHT SIDE....

SHOW ME YOUR SPAWN #5 NEWSIE. FORGET THE STORY I TELL. I SHOWED MINE....SHOW ME YOURS?

I'm not really sure how non-paying bidders play into this scenario, and $10 is around the right price for that copy you posted.

I'm sure they do, there's sort of a joke that that's why they're called "Mile High." The 5 most recent eBay sales of a raw Spawn 5 newsstand were $16.95, $9.50, $16.50, $9.99 and $13.49 - and those looked to be NM copies.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, just trying to help out and offer some perspective. But it's your book and your account, so obviously you can do as you like.

meh, wasn't asking but received feedback. Noted!

Wait, so you, as the seller, had this listed as an active auction item, and it had a $9.99 bid with time left to go in the auction, and you canceled the person's bid and pulled the auction? I'm sorry man, but that seems like not a great look as a seller. Not to mention that a Spawn 5 newsstand is like a $10-15 book anyway.

I'm not so sure being Mile-High has it listed pretty highly! :takeit:

OK Man, so you called me out on pulling off the shelf. Can you tell me the percentage of auction sales where the bidder simply wins the item but never pays? It's in the range of 30 - 60 percent. I pulled it because there was an error in the listing and that is simply the statement I gave ebay. Errors happen!

I’m fairly certain that every direct copy of Spider-Man #16 has the Curtis stamp. The most likely explanation is just that someone goofed up while they were setting up the direct editions for printing and the mistake wasn’t seen as enough of a problem to warrant the cost of pulping and re-printing them. I have definitely seen multiple other examples where the Curtis stamp was printed on the direct edition, but this is the only one that I could remember off-hand:

I'm not certain, but maybe the one with the UK price and not the CC was leftover print for distribution overseas in the UK and was distributed in the US. Or not....

A hair dryer to heat up the sticker. Then carefully remove the sticker. Maybe some fresh absorbene to remove any residue that might be left (carefully).

Had a nice discovery going through and trying to begin the process of organizing my collection again, I'm adding the Overstreet App (I currently use CLZ) and pulled out a box I haven't visited in years and stumbled on a nice little lot.

Side note, I found a recommendation for storage for comics in one of the chat boards and the person recommended a filing cabinet. I know the cardboard boxes have acid so I bought a file cabinet...
I wish I had that box inside it! :) Thanks for the pics!

Wow, well done Billy Boy!!!! I pointed this out to Russell as it was going for such a good price, but I had NO idea you'd be a buyer!!!  :applause:

Spectre is one of my all-time favorite characters. That is a nice comic! I have his silver-age series, nearly complete. Also have his first and second appearances, silver-age, as well. He just isn't a popular character. I wish they would bring him back again. Love that book!

  11. I have a 90's XFactor comic that is probably an easy 9.4 grade. What makes the comic spectacular, to me, is the back cover. The comic is in such great condition I would like to have it graded and encapsulated. However, I would only do that if the back cover could be place facing the front. The back cover has an awesome movie advertisement for The Crow II: City of Angels. Can this be done?

  12. Here is an example: https://www.dynamicforces.com/htmlfiles/p-C130189.html

$150.00 for this comic, silver signature series. Not graded by CGC. Send it in and get a qualified grade. Seems absurd to pay that much for an ungraded issue directly from DF and then have it graded to receive a qualified grade. I'm not sure why DF doesn't just have it graded for the buyer and tack on another 50$ then offer it. Ugh, oh well. Thanks for the comments.

  13. I'll never buy another Dynamic Forces signed comic with C.O.A. (or Black Flag for that matter). I made the mistake of sending them to be graded, 3 comics - 2 from Dynamic Forces the other from Black Flag, and found they were graded as qualified. I didn't realize this would happen. However, on the bright side, 2 of them were graded at 9.8. Any opinions or thoughts about this?

Kind of seems like they should put something on the label indicating it's Dynamic Forces or Black Flag or something. The seals were unbroken with the COA's inside the sleeve. Doesn't seem right to me. If CGC says that there are lots of forgeries on the COA's but the seals are unbroken how do Dynamic Forces or anyone else justify selling them? How do we know that the COA isn't forged???
