  1. I'm not really looking for any specific services regarding the signature. It was more a question regarding "how do I prove its legit"... the answer apparently is CGC doesn't care, unless its through their signature service... which I sorta understand. I was more concerned that if I resubmitted the book for grading once I cracked it open for the sig, that there might be a notation regarding the signature (positive or negative) which apparently there is not. So I just send it back and get a blue label back in return, which I am fine with. I just have never done it so I was uncertain of the process. I didn't want to somehow get a signature and then end up getting something negative listed from CGC.
  2. As I mentioned above... he probably signed at least 2-3k times at the event I was at. I am quite sure the signatures at the start looked pretty damn different from those at the end. They originally were allowing 2 sigs per person and then had to announce he was only doing one per person about 2 hours in... and he was still there for another 2ish hours. He has potentially signed more things personally than anyone in recent history and there's gonna be some variation, even as you say, during the same event. Dunno, its always open to speculation.
  3. Took 2 hours of searching and a brief heart attack thinking it had been in a different book.. but I found the sig I have. Sorta wished I had saved the ticket to the event. Signature from 2006. Best provenance I can give is a fantastic story about the event /signing and then running into Stan Lee and his small entourage again by happenstance at dinner about 45 minutes later. He took time to sign things for the waitstaff once they found out who he was... Just seemed like an all around nice guy. Responding specifically to the OP... they look pretty damn similar.
  4. I'm sure this is answered... probably several places but I am not finding it. There's a lot of "no this is not sufficient to prove up a signature..." but what is? Strictly and only CGC witnessed? I'm quite certain this can't be true b/c I also have a Stan Lee signed copy of something I had signed over 20 years ago at an event... I'm showing up to a signing and was going to crack open a blue slabbed copy for the signature. If I resubmit this to CGC to be re-slabbed with the signature... what do I need to send along for provenance? There is a lot of "not this" on the front page, so... then what suffices? I don't really care about yellow / blue labels but I certainly would like some notation that the signature is legit.
  5. I would have to dig through my collection to find the one he signed for me, but honestly, I would lean more towards it being legit. Stan was a great guy and he signed anything and everything for anyone who asked. To give you an idea, at the event I went to (I'm gonna say around-ish 2001... I think though I might have to stretch my brain to really remember exactly) he gave a talk at a very well attended library function where he was a keynote speaker and then went next door to the library and stuck around signing all manner of everything for the next FIVE HOURS until everyone who wanted his signature had gotten it. He didn't have to do that. He honestly appreciated his fan base and made a point of making sure to show it. If I had to guess, his signature is legit more often than not merely based on the sheer number of things he signed over his lifetime. I'll still see if I can dig up the book with his sig though to post a comparison.
  6. Still nothing about even receiving my books... I'm pretty sure this isn't normal.
  7. At what point should I be concerned that CGC hasn't sent an email out regarding my materials for this? I was hoping to just bump it over to the Starlin signing, but Its been a month with no contact and apparently the cutoff for Starlin is only a month away too...
