  1. If you think you get 9.4 minimum then send it in! I assume your goal is to sell it?
  2. I think as soon as you open the cover that is going to happen. What exactly is your question? If others have the same experience? Also, I never thought of using my Washing Machine as the background! How Cool is that!!
  3. TAKE IT OUT of the BAG! You must show front and back cover or will not get an accurate guesstimate at all.
  4. You should have immediately asked to return it. That is perfectly within your rights and his grading on it was atrocious. It's probably a 3.0/3.5.
  5. Fortunately not tanning but some light soiling and discoloration and is not near as prominent in hand as the scan shows.
  6. Picked up a 26 issue Avengers run. Here are some examples!!
  7. Looks every bit as nice at some 6.0 books I own. At least that!
  8. I think that may grade at 3.5 with that stain and moisture damage. Possibly 4.0
  9. Just got this nice book! Just wondering what opinions are? It is nicer than I expected!
  10. I did not know that but for future use thank you! The back cover presents far better in hand. No stain in LLC. The apparent soiling along the spine is ink from when the book was manufatured. Yes there is a 1/8" tear at the bottom staple. Light rub at top staple.
  11. OK, I have added some pics. You can see the lower right corner which shows much less in hand than the close up. Also, you will see two ever so slight spine ticks. One is in the indicia at the very bottom of Thors cape. The other is on the red of his cape just below his hammer. Other than that the spine is pretty flawless as is the rest of the book other than what I just mentioned. I own 8.0/8.5 books that show fat worse than this book does. I was shocked this was given a 7.0. Again I own 7.0's with so many more and noticeable flaws than this book.
  12. I think signatures and written dates as well as date stamps DOES NOT affect the grade on these old books, especially if it is not horribly intrusiveness and this one is not. I would not risk damaging the book and it won't change the grade IMO.
  13. I was hoping at least an 8.5 when I sent it in. It's a gorgeous copy. It came back ... 7.0! I also had a Batman #227 that I was hoping the same. Even the CBCS rep at the convention where I submitted them looked at it and said, "wow, that looks like a pretty nice VF copy!" It came back at 6.0? I am thinking I need to break these open and send them to CGC. There were others too and they seem to grade awfully harsh and even a little unreasonable. I have never been that far off with the CGC books I send in. In fact we are incredibly close or spot on!
  14. 6.0/6.5. but I believe a press would do wonders for this one!
  15. Already been graded! Wondering what you folks think it got? First pic is camera, second two are scans. Thanks
  16. What happened to everyone scanning the front and back cover in its entirety? These chopped pics make it harder! I think you have a 9.2 there IMHO...
